Period 1 Part A Let’s try,Let’s talk
本课时学习A部分的Let’s try和Let’s talk两个环节。Let’s try通过约翰在电话中向埃米说明不能上学的原因,让学生初步感知本课时的新句型“What happened?”。Let’s talk通过埃米去看望约翰,约翰向埃米谈论自己在劳动节期间的活动并分享照片的情景呈现本课时重点句型“—Are you all right?—I’m OK now./Not very well./...”“—Where did you go(+表示过去的时间)?—(I/We went to+)地点.”以及“It looks like+其他.”,让学生感受上述句型的语义及语用情景。
知识目标
1.能够听、说、认读三会词汇:fell,off,Labour Day,mule,Turpan,could,till;
2.能够用句型“What happened?”询问他人怎么了;
3.能够用句型“—Are you all right?—I’m OK now./Not very well./...”询问对方的身体状况并回答;
4.能够用句型“—Where did you go(+表示过去的时间)?—(I/We went to+)地点.”询问对方过去去过哪里并回答;
5.能够用“It looks like+其他.”表达“某物看起来像……”;
6.能够完成Let’s try的听力活动;
7.能够理解Let’s talk的对话内容。

教学重难点
能够灵活运用本课时所学重点句型与他人交流。
教师先带领学生朗读课文,让学生在语境中理解重点句子的含义,然后归纳并讲解句型,最后学生分小组结合自己的实际情况进行问答练习,反复操练句型。
多媒体课件。
Step 1:Warm up
1.教师播放上一单元歌曲Last weekend,师生一起大声唱。
2.教师用多媒体依次呈现一些活动相关图片,如washed my clothes、cleaned the room、watched TV、saw a film、read a book,随机抽选学生展开对话,如:
T:What did you do last weekend?(呈现洗衣服的图片)
S1:I washed my clothes.
T:What did you do last weekend?(呈现看书的图片)
S2:I read a book.
T:What did you do last weekend?(呈现看电影的图片)
S3:I saw a film.
...
教师先通过歌曲活跃课堂气氛,激发学生的学习兴趣,然后通过师生问答对上一单元核心词句进行了复习,为新课的学习做准备。
Step 2:Presentation
1.Let’s try
·教材意图
本环节通过约翰在电话中向埃米说明不能上学的原因,让学生初步感知本课时的新句型“What happened?”,并为Let’s talk的学习提供了人物和背景信息。
·教学建议
(1)教师导入:Listen!There is a phone call.Who is calling?Oh,John had a phone call with Amy.What are they talking about?Let’s listen!然后让学生阅读题干,确定听录音的重点。
(2)教师播放两遍录音,学生完成听力练习。
(3)教师请三名学生回答问题并核对答案。
(4)教师第三次播放录音,让学生仔细听,尽量听出听力原文。
(5)教师用多媒体呈现听力原文并播放录音,学生模仿其语音、语调跟读。
2.Let’s talk
·教材意图
本环节通过约翰向埃米分享自己在劳动节期间的活动照片的场景呈现了本课时重要句型“What happened?”“—Are you all right?—I’m OK now./Not very well./...”“—Where did you go(+表示过去的时间)?—(I/We went to+)地点.”“It looks like+其他.”,让学生学习用上述句型与他人交流。
·教学建议
(1)教师用多媒体展示一张劳动节的日历,与学生展开对话,如:
T:What holiday is it
Ss:劳动节。
T:Yes,it is Labour Day holiday.(教师教读Labour Day)Do you like it
Ss:Yes.
T:What do you usually do over Labour Day holiday?Do you go on trips
Ss:Yes,...
T:I went on a trip over Labour Day holiday.Look!These are photos taken during Labour Day holiday.
教师用多媒体展示自己在劳动节期间旅行的照片并简单讲述,如:Over Labour Day holiday I went to Hainan.It was beautiful.The weather was sunny.I went swimming in the sea and picked up some seashells on the beach.
(2)教师问学生:Where did you go over Labour Day holiday?并引导学生回答:I went to...然后教师带领学生总结并讲解句型:—Where did you go(+表示过去的时间)?—(I/We went to+)地点.接着,教师让学生两人一组反复操练该句型,如:
S1:Where did you go yesterday
S2:I went to the library.Where did you go last weekend
S1:I went to the zoo.
(3)教师呈现Let’s talk的教材插图说:Over Labour Day holiday John went on a trip too.There are two photos he took during Labour Day holiday.Where did he go?Can you guess?学生根据图片猜测出约翰去的地方是新疆。
(4)教师让学生四人一组互相交流自己对新疆的印象,然后请几名学生说一说。教师结合学生的介绍,利用图片或视频介绍新疆的风土人情,在提到吐鲁番和骡子的时候,教师教读并简单讲解单词Turpan和mule。
(5)教师在讲解mule时,呈现马和骡子的图片,让学生进行对比。接着,教师指着马的图片,说:It looks like a mule!然后归纳并讲解句型:It looks like+其他.接着,教师带领学生反复操练该句型。
(6)教师说:There are so many things we can do in Xinjiang.What did John do when he was in Xinjiang?Can you guess?让学生预测约翰在新疆做的事情。然后教师播放录音,学生验证自己的答案,教师请两名学生回答问题并核对答案。教师可呈现Main scene P23的插图进一步了解约翰在新疆做过的事情。
(7)教师说:John didn’t go to school.Amy went to visit him.What happened to him?教师板书句子“What happened?”,然后教读并讲解句子。教师让学生阅读第一回合对话并回答:He fell off his bike last Saturday and hurt his foot.教师板书fell off并进行教读,然后通过图片帮助学生理解其意思。
(8)教师接着问:Is he all right now?学生根据第二回合对话回答:He’s OK now.教师板书句子并总结句型:—Are you all right?—I’m OK now./Not very well./...接着教师教读并讲解该句型。
(9)教师让学生两人一组用上述两个句型进行对话练习,如:
S1:What happened
S2:I fell off my bike and hurt my leg.
S1:Are you all right
S2:I’m OK now.
一轮结束后,学生互换角色继续练习。
(10)教师讲解对话中学生提出的其他疑难点,如生词could和till。然后邀请一名学生翻译对话,教师纠正其翻译有误的地方。
(11)教师播放录音,学生模仿其语音、语调跟读,然后分角色练习对话。
(12)教师请几组学生表演对话,对表现优异的学生给予奖励。
Step 3:Practice
1.活动:连词成句
教师用多媒体出示本课时几个重点句子(句子中单词的顺序已经被打乱),学生举手抢答,把句子中的单词按照正确的顺序连成一句通顺的话,答对得一分。
2.活动:我是小记者
(1)学生四人一组,用句型“—Where did you go over your holiday?—(I/We went to+)地点.”和“—What did you do?—I...”互相调查对方在节假日期间去了哪里并做了什么事情。如:
S1:Where did you go
S2:I went to Beijing.
S1:What did you do
S2:I visited the Great Wall.
...
(2)学生一边调查一边利用表格做好记录,表格如下:

(3)请几名学生根据自己的表格向大家介绍组内成员在节假日期间去的地方以及进行的活动。如:

Step 4:Consolidation and extension
1.与同桌互相操练本课时重点句型。
2.回家后把Let’s talk的对话读给家长听。
3.完成配套的课时作业。

本课时主要学习会话。在热身阶段,教师通过歌曲活跃课堂气氛,激发学生的学习兴趣,并通过图片与学生展开问答,复习了上一单元的核心词句,为本课时的学习做铺垫。
在会话学习阶段,教师先以一张节日日历与学生展开对话,引出本课时将要学习的主题;然后借助自己的旅行经历、插图以及图片,通过对话依次引出本课时的重点句型,不仅激发了学生的好奇心,还让学生真正融入到真实的语言环境中,有利于学生将所学句型运用到实际的交流中。在讲解完句型之后,教师还让学生进行了必要的操练,加深学生对句型的理解。
在练习巩固阶段,教师通过两个活动再次操练了所学句型,让所学新知得到及时巩固,同时培养了学生的交际能力。
