If we can’t do that, we should be 15 to design our own uniforms. That would be a good way to 16 both teachers and students happy. In one way failure is part of life, and in another way, failure may be a way towards success.
The “spider(蜘蛛) story” is often told. Robert Bruce, leader of the Scots in the 13th century, was hiding in a cave from the English. He watched a spider spinning a web. The spider tried to reach across a rough place in the rocks. He tried six times to span(跨越) the gap. On the seventh time he made it and went on spinning his web. Bruce is said to have taken heart and to have gone on to defeat the English.
Edison, the inventor of the light bulb(灯泡), made hundreds of models that failed before he found the right way to make one.
So what First, always think about your failure. What caused it Were conditions right What can you change, so things will go right next time
Second, is the goal you’re trying to reach the right one Try to do something about what your real goals may be. Think about this question, “If I do succeed in this, where will it get me ” This may help you prevent failure in things you shouldn’t be doing anyway.
The third thing to bear in mind about failure is that it’s part of life. Learn to “live with it yourself” even though you may have failed. Remember, “You can’t win them all.”

四、阅读判断
Dear neighbors,
We are writing this letter to you because our school has started a group. It is called “Help the Environment”. It works to look after the environment.
Here are some interesting facts that our group has learnt:
Most things that we throw away can be reused or recycled(再利用).
Some European countries, for example, Germany, already recycle half of their waste.
90% of people in the country would like to recycle more.
We think that most people would agree with these statements:
We need to recycle our waste, not use up the world’s sources(资源).
It is better to recycle waste than to burn it in the earth or the sea.
Our environment group has decided that one of the best things we can do is collect reusable waste. We will sell this waste to recycling companies and give the money to Friends of the Earth. We would like people living near the school to bring their recyclable waste to the school. But if you are too busy, we will collect it from you once a week.
We hope that you will agree to this. If you do, please give sign the statement below this letter.
Yours,
John Cooper

English Textbooks are Good Friends
English textbooks play an important part in our study of English.
They are good materials for us to learn English well. They can not only open our minds but also make our school life colourful.
We’ve learned many wonderful things in the world in our textbooks, which help us get a better understanding of different cultures around the world and grow into an excellent person. Some famous people we’ve learned affect us a lot. My favorite one is Audrey Hepburn, a great American successful actress, who devoted much of her time and money to charity. I’ve learned a lot from her.
