一、教学内容:
Story time
二、教材分析:
城市让生活更美好。有关城市的话题一直是人们论的谈热点,本单元的话题是关于城市的环境卫生方面,这一话题也与学生的生活息息相关。而本课主要教学任务是把话题聚焦到保护学校环境上,然后就学校环境保护这一热点话题来制作海报,准备演讲稿等。在就话题进行演讲时,我先为学生提供语言框架,帮助学生构建演讲提纲,提供了很多语言材料。引导学生进行较为准确的综合语言的输出,提升学生的综合语言运用能力。
三、学情分析:
本单元的教学内容贴近学生的生活,具有教育性和时代性。本班大部分学生学习积极性较高,思维比较活跃,也擅于表达,但也有一部分学生学习态度不够端正,在学习中有畏难情绪,还有一部分学生善于书面表达但羞于口头表达,教师设置一些小组合作活动,使得每一位学生都有参与课堂学习、思考和表达的机会,通过小组合作学习课文的第二部分What can we do to keep our city clean 、小组合作准备演讲等活动,使学生能进行较为准确的综合语言的输出,以此提升学生的综合语言运用能力。

3. 能流利的朗读课文。
4. 知道怎样使我们的城市保持干净,培养学生的环保意识。

Step 2 Pre-reading
1. Show some pictures taken by students before class.

揭题:Unit 6 Keep our city clean
2. Our city is dirty and messy now.
Teach the new words: dirty and messy
3. What makes our city dirty
Present the pictures which makes our city dirty and teach students the new words.
Teach the new words: smoke, factory, rubbish, dead and bin
Step 3 While-reading
Task 1 Watch and answer
Our city is messy and dirty. What about Su Hai, Wang Bing and Liu Tao’s city Is their city clean or dirty
Watch the cartoon (the first part) and answer the question .
Task 2 Read and find
What makes their city dirty
Read the first part on P58 and use pencils to underline the key sentences.
Check the answers. (Pair work: one to ask and the other to answer)

Task 3 Brainstorming
Our city and their city are both dirty and messy. Then what can we do to keep the city clean
Provide some ways for students to judge (walk to school/ put the rubbish in the park/ go to work by bus / go to work by car/ put rubbish in the bin) and then ask students to use the patterns “We can…/We can’t…” to complete the sentences.
Encourage students to think about more ways to keep our city clean.
Task 4 Read and write
Group work
What can we do to keep our city clean
We can take the bus and the metro to school.
We can also walk to school.
We can move some factories away from our city.
We can put rubbish in the bin.
We can plant more trees.

Ask students to use the information on the blackboard or the screen to retell the whole story. Give students time to prepare before retelling.

Watch a short video about haze from CCTV
People in China often talk about PM2.5. There is a lot of smoke and haze. The air is dirty. We can’t breathe freely. Where is our future We have to do something. We need to work together.
