Text 4
W: Hello! I'm trying to take a bath, but there are too many buttons.Would you tell me how to use them?
M: I see.We have an explanation booklet on the table. If you follow the direction,it is quite simple.

M: Oh,certainly.
Text 5
M: Well, would you give us an extra key to the room?

M: It's a furnished two-bedroom flat in a three-story building on campus.

M: No,they're all included.Besides, students don't have to pay state tax,so we're saving quite a bit of money living here.
W: How long is your contract for?
M: That's the bad thing—the contract ends in June,so we'll have to find a new apartment soon.
W: Have you started looking again yet?

M: Buying a house can be expensive, but there are ways to find cheaper houses.
W: Like what?
M: Well. You can buy a house far away from the city centre. You would definitely save money doing it that way.
W: That's a good idea.
M: Sure,my sister-in-law and her husband just bought a house that way. They're pretty satisfied with it.
W: Is the house pretty run-down?
M: Not at all.The woman, who owned it,took good care of it.But when she died, she had no family left and no will,so the government had to sell it for her.
W: Was it a very old house?
M: It was about 75 years old. There were a few repairs that needed doing, but it didn't take a lot of money or time.
W: Is it in a good location?
M: The area can be a bit rough in the evening, but the neighbours watch out for each other,so it's OK.
Text 10
Do you read reviews before you see a movie?I used to do that, but I usually wished I hadn't.I used to read so much about a movie in advance that often I ended up not going to see it at all.The writers point out everything that is wrong with the film, and seldom mention anything good about it.They also tell us the important things and even the ending of the movie I think they have seen so many movies that they have forgotten what it is like to enjoy watching one.
Lately I have changed the way I choose movies to watch. Now I never read review before a movie.I read them afterwards,if at all.I don't watch the talk shows where people discuss movies and I don't ask other people what they think about it.Now,I enjoy myself more.

36.B 从下文had to use a rickshaw puller及I couldn't walk too much可推测,“我”是膝盖受伤,走路有困难。
下文every day, each day都是提示。
故选as。
A
When I came to Cincinnati as an au pair (家庭打工留学生),a lot of things there were different from what I knew. My host family lived in a huge house I could only describe as a “castle”. In Germany I had lived in a small apartment together with my mum. Soon I found out that the “castle”was actually rather small in our neighbourhood.
Everybody there was very friendly and polite. They greeted you when they were walking by at least 3 feet away from you. They must not have seen a German au pair before, for most people I met asked me all kinds of questions about Germany. I enjoyed answering their various strange questions. I made a lot of friends and I started to hang out with them.
Of course, there were a number of new things, and it took me the whole year to find them all out. I never got homesick. Perhaps it was because I did not have too many negative (负面的)experiences and felt loved and welcomed there.
However, I had undergone some painful experience back in Germany. I was frustrated by the way people would run me over and not even say“Sorry”. Taking up my studies at the TU-Dresden I felt lonely. Everybody here seemed to be withdrawn (离群的) and I missed everything I had in Cincinnati. Germany was so “cold”. I found it so much harder to make new friends. After six months I got a roommate and only two good friends. I also flew back to Cincinnati several times for long periods. I felt that without those visits I was not able to make it.
Now I am over this German culture shock. It almost took me an entire year. I am still going back and forward between Dresden and Cincinnati four times a year.
56.When the author lived in Cincinnati, ________.
A.she lived in a real castle
B.some people were not very kind to her
C.many people were curious about her motherland
D.she lived in the biggest house in the neighbourhood
57.In the opinion of the author, life in Cincinnati was _______.
A.wonderful B.hard
C.painful D.strange
58.The underlined word“undergone” in Paragraph 4 probably means ________.
A.welcomed B.accepted
C.expected D.suffered
59.What is the best title for this passage?
A.University Life in Germany
B.My Culture Shock Experience
C.Advantages of Living in the USA
D.How to Be An Au Pair in the USA
根据第二段中的“They must not have seen a German au pair before, for most people I met asked me all kinds of questions about Germany”.
B
There are several ways from which to choose for you to keep your kids safe in your neighbourhood. But the first step to keeping your child safe in your neighbourhood is to know your neighbours.
Knowing your neighbours can save you a lot of worry. It lets you know that the car that has just driven down the street belongs to“the yellow house on the corner”, or the truck that has just driven by the playground looks unfamiliar, but the guy in the passenger seat resides two doors down. It's these simple things that keep you from going_out_of_your_mind whenever you see someone driving by where children are playing.
But you shouldn't just know what they look like. The next step is to know them well. What do they do? How do they act? You might be OK with them driving by the playground since they live in the neighbourhood, but are you OK with them being on the playground? Knowing your neighbours solves several things. First you find out what kind of people they are. This helps you know if you should let your child go out in an area that they gather. Let's face it: you don't want your child to play around people or people's children that curse (咒骂) or hit each other. Sometimes you have to protect your child against your own neighbours.
Knowing them also makes them know you. Being neighbours is an interesting thing. You might not like them or have the same views as them, but we all usually protect those that we consider our own. If you know your neighbours, they know you. They are more likely to look after the child of the nice lady down the street in the brick (砖) house, than the people, in the house on the corner, that no one ever sees.
60.This passage is mainly to tell us ________.
A.how to keep your child safe in the neighbourhood
B.how to set a good example to your neighbours
C.how to get along with your neighbours
D.how to teach your child to protect himself
61.If someone resides two doors down, he ________.
A.studies at the same school with your kid
B.often comes to the neighbourhood to offer help
C.lives in the same neighbourhood as you
D.likes driving the truck around the neighbourhood
62.The underlined phrase“going out of your mind” in Paragraph 2 probably means ________.
A.becoming very excited
B.becoming very worried
C.becoming very disappointed
D.becoming very relaxed
63.From the third paragraph we can know that ________.
A.it is important for you to be polite to your neighbours
B.people in the same neighbourhood are quite different
C.people like enjoying themselves on the playground
D.knowing your neighbours helps to keep your kids safe
根据第二段中的“the truck that has just driven by the playground looks unfamiliar, but the guy in the passenger seat resides two doors down”可知,如果一个人“resides two doors down”,即这个人住的地方和你家隔两家,他应该和你住在同一个社区。
C

What does it take to be a good neighbour? Over the years I have had all kinds of neighbours, ones that were enjoyable and others that were to be avoided at all costs.
One of the most important things in being a good neighbour is to respect a person's privacy (隐私). When someone new moves into the neighbourhood it is a good idea to watch them to see how friendly you should be. If you go rushing over as soon as they move in they may think you are going to be one of those neighbours that come over at all times of the day, not respecting their privacy.
It is a good idea always to be friendly to everyone in the neighbourhood. This can not only put you on good terms with them, but will also be a form of protection for your family and home. If you wave as they drive by or offer a friendly hello while they are out in their yard this shows that you respect them. If you are friendly to them they are much more likely to watch out for any wrongdoings going on around your home while you are out and let you know if anything happens.
Another way of being a good neighbour is to be helpful in times of need. If you see that they are in need of a helping hand doing something or in times of a disaster, it is good to offer your help. Even though you have never really talked to the people down the street, they are willing to take the time to help out a neighbour in need.
In conclusion, if you respect a person's privacy, treat them kindly and be helpful when you see they are in need, you will be a great neighbour and anyone would be happy to have you next door!
68.When someone moves into your neighbourhood you should ________.
A.visit them as often as possible
B.show respect for them
C.learn about some of their privacy
D.avoid meeting them
69.If you are getting along well with your neighbours you can ________.
A.have your own privacy
B.often visit their yard
C.make close friends with them
D.keep your family members safe
70.What's the main idea of the fourth paragraph?
A.Neighbours should help each other.
B.Everybody probably gets into trouble.
C.Neighbours should respect each other.
D.A friend in need is a friend indeed.
根据第二段中的“One of the most
important things in being a good neighbour is to respect a person's privacy”可知,对于新搬来的邻居,最重要的是要尊重他们的隐私,不要过早拜访他们。
根据第三段中的“This can not only put you on good terms with them, but will also be a form of protection for your family and home”可知,邻里关系融洽可以保护你的家和家人的安全。

Hello everyone,
My name is Li Hua. My topic today is how to survive an earthquake.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
答案
Hello_everyone,
My_name_is_Li_Hua._My_topic_today_is_how_to_survive_an_earthquake.
As we all know, a terrible earthquake happened in Japan on March 11, 2011, in which tens of thousands of people were injured or killed.
If we know some common knowledge of surviving an earthquake, we can save our lives. The following are the tips for you when you come across an earthquake.
If you are outdoors, just lie on the ground and be sure to keep away from buildings. Don't have to run around or it can throw yourself down. The earthquake may put any buildings to the ground and something falling down will injure you.
If you are indoors, try to go outside. But if you don't have enough time, staying inside is possibly safer. Hide yourself under the table or other firm furniture, which not only provides the protection to you, but also a big breath space.
That's all. Thanks for your listening.

There are two basic ways to see growth: one as a product, the other as a process.
People have generally viewed personal growth as an external (外在的) result or a product that can easily be identified and measured. The worker who gets a rise, the student whose grades improve, the foreigner who learns a new language—all these examples of people who have measurable results to show for their efforts.
By contrast (对照), the process of personal growth is much more difficult to determine, since it is a journey and not the specific signposts (路标) or landmarks (地标) along the way. The process is not the road itself, but the attitudes, feelings people have, and their caution or courage, as they meet with new experiences and unexpected difficulties. In this process, the journey never really ends; there are always new ways to experience the world, new ideas to try, new challenges to accept.
In order to grow, to travel new roads, people need to have a willingness to take risks, to face the unknown, and to accept the possibility that they may“fail” at first. How we see ourselves as we try a new way of being is necessary for our ability to grow. Do we see ourselves as quick and curious? If so, we tend to take more chances and be more open to unfamiliar experiences. Do we think we're shy and indecisive? Then our sense of fear can cause us to hesitate, to move slowly, and we think we are slow to adapt (适应) change or that we're not smart enough to deal with a new challenge. Then we are likely to take a more passive role or not try at all.
Feelings of insecurity (不安全) and self-doubt are both unavoidable (不可避免的) and necessary if we are to change and grow. If we protect ourselves too much, then we stop growing. We become trapped (捕获的) inside a shell of our own making.
