Unit 2 My Family
(Part A Let’s Learn & Let’s Chant)教案
1. Teaching Objectives
Knowledge and ability objectives:
Students are able to master the words: mother, mum, woman.
Students are able to master the sentences:
-- Who’s that woman
--She’s my mother/ mum.
Students can make a similar dialogue and know how to ask and answer questions about their family member.
Process and method objects:
When students learn new things, they can establish linkages between words and their family members. They can distinguish “man” and “woman”, “father” and “mother”, “he” and “she”
Emotion, attitude and value objects:
Students can get more interested in learning English and develop their confidence.
Students can learn to love their family and care for them.
2. Teaching Key Points:
New words: mother, mum, woman
New sentences: -- Who’s that woman
-- She’s my mother/ mum.
Teaching Difficult points:
Ask and answer their family member with the sentences
The using of “he”,”she”
3.Teaching methods and Learning methods:
Autonomic learning, cooperative learning, situational dialogue
4. Teaching Aids: PPT, computer, flash cards, witch hat, photos
5. Teaching Procedures:
Step 1. Warming up and reviewing, group dividing. (5 min)
Greetings. The teacher greets students as usual.
Chant the song “He and She” as a review.
T: Now, look! Who’s coming Who’s that girl Yes, she’s Xiao Zhi han...Who’s that boy ...Who’s that man ...
(设计意图:通过唱说唱部分复习he, she进行热身,活跃课堂氛围,为新知识呈现做铺垫)
Step 2. Presentation (20 min)
Teacher “mother”
T: I’m a witch. I got your mother. When I say 1, 2, 3, you should say 3, 2, 1. And I will catch your voices and actions.
T: What did you hear
Ss: mother.
T: OK, now read after me for 3 times. Mother, mother, mother
Ss: ...
T: Now, I set a bomb on the card. You should say it correctly, or it will bomb. You will miss one point.
Ss: ...
T: Great! Good boy! Please pay attention to / /.
T: OK, can you spell it (write it on the blackboard)
Then mix “mother” with “father”, ask the students to read.
Teach “mum”.
T: We also can call our mother “mum” →students listen, teacher say the words →imitate the pronunciation → check quickly.
Teach sentence “She’s my mother/ mum”
(The teacher shows her mother’s photo on PPT)
T: Who’s that woman Guess!
Ss: She’s your mother.
T: Yes, she’s my mother.(Point at the photo say the sentence for three times.) OK, please say it after me. (Show Ss’ mother’s photo and ask the Ss to try to say the sentence.)
Teach “woman”
T:My father is a man. My mother is a .. .. (Show the teacher’s family photo.)
T: Yes, woman! OK! Wind blows! Wind blows! Hu~~(teach the new words in a similar way, Listen→imitate→correct→conclusion.)
Teach “Who’s that woman ” and sum up the words through the game of “What’s missing ”
T: (Show the teacher’s mother’s photo again) Who’s that woman OK, read after me!
Ss: Who’s that woman
T: She’s my mother.
Listen to the dialogue and try to imitate the pronunciation.
Ask some of the students to dub the dialogue.
Listen and learn the chant.
(设计意图:通过直观形象的照片,配合示范性动作及表情,使学生更好学习新词,创造真实场景,用真实道具,学生身边熟悉的人,让学生在真实情景中运用所学。)
Step 3. Consolidation (15 min)
1) Guessing Game
Teacher asks students to draw a picture of their father or mother or shows their family photos, and make a dialogue in pairs. Then teacher asks some of them to show their dialogue in front of the class. Teachers gives them positive feedback after their presentation.
S1: Who’s that woman
S2: She’s my mother/ mum.
S2: Who’s that man
S1: He’s my father.
Rock it.
(create a chant to sum up what we learned today.)
Man, ~~, who’s that man
Father, ~~, he’s my father.
Woman, ~~, who’s that woman
Mother, ~~, she’s my mother.
(设计意图: 游戏与创编对话的结合,有趣而又反应真实场景。可以提高学生参与的积极性,增强他们的合作与交际能力,以及运用所学句子来询问家庭成员的能力在真实的情境中练习所学的词及句子。)
Step 4. Emotion Education.
(The teacher show the meaning of “family”, father and mother I love you, advise the students love their parents and care for them.)
Step 5. Summary and homework (5min)
Summary: (Look at the PPT)
Sentence: -- Who’s that woman
-- She’s my mother/ mum.
Words: mother, mum, woman.
Homework
Listen and read the new words and sentences in Let’s learn and let’s chant.
Make a similar dialogue about your parents. And show your conversations next class.
Make your own family tree.
(设计意图: 以自编chant对所学知识进一步巩固,作业有说有写有画,可以有效促进学生对新知识的掌握及听、说、读、写等各项技能的发展。)
