(1) cut…in half，“把……切成两半；把……一切为二”；
(2) cut，“(用剪刀)剪；(用刀)切”；
(3) in half / halves， 是一种固定的结构，此处的介词in表示状态。如：
Please cut the orange in half. 请把橙子一切两半。
Now, all the oranges are in halves. 现在所有的橙子都是半个、半个的。
By the end of this year, that number will be cut in half.到今年年底，这个数字将减少一半。
