W:Oh, I've changed my mind.

M:I won't. Would you like to join us
W:Sounds good. How can we get to Mike's
M:We can either walk there or take a bus. It is not far away from your apartment.
W:Wait a moment. I'll call the garage to see whether my car is ready. Maybe we can drive there.

When you go on a trip to America, you will see the word Motel on signs and notice boards. It is made up of “motor” and “hotel” and it is really a hotel for people who arrive by car (however, you don't need a car to stay at one). You have to pay when you arrive for your room, which usually has a bath.Meals are not provided but there will certainly be a cafeteria (自助餐馆).Americans eat a lot of salads and sandwiches.Along the main roads there are a lot of motels. Each tries to offer more than the others. Some provide television in every bedroom; others have swimming pools and so on.Motels are especially useful when you are in the country, far from a town or city. You will also find them in big national parks.
In these great national parks, you may meet guests you don't expect to see.An American friend told me a short story. In the middle of a moonless night, she heard strange noises outside her motel window in the Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.Thinking it might be a thief, she jumped out of bed, opened the door and crept towards a dark shadow. As she got close, she saw the thief. She was dreadfully frightened: it wasn't a human thief—it was a big black bear. The bear was turning over some empty tins with its paws, looking for tasty bits of food.My friend decided to leave that particular thief alone!
There are also, of course, places called “rooming houses”, where they provide lodges (客房).You will see such signs as Tourists or Rooms Rent, and you could try one of these.A word of warning—looking for a room in New York during the tourist season is like looking for gold on the moon!

I did not go on my first hike until my mid 30s.I could blame it on the fact that I grew up on the Great Plains of South Dakota and North Dakota. 36 Having never gone, I didn't see the value and always shook my head when asked.
37 At the urging of my wife, and with my two young kids, we walked a beautiful forest path on a cool August morning.I carried a small backpack with water and snacks (小吃).When we reached the top, we ate lunch together overlooking a perfectly still pond and a scenic Vermont.
A few weeks ago, my 11 year old son, my 61 year old dad, and I hiked Camelback Mountain in Phoenix.Last weekend, I hiked down the Grand Canyon with my son along the South Kaibab Trail. And later this week, my wife and daughter will join us to walk the Waterfall Trail in the White Tank Mountains. 38
Now, just to be clear, by no means would I classify myself as an expert hiker. 39 And I have no plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro or walk the Appalachian Trail. But waking early on a Saturday morning to walk 3-5 miles along a forest path with lunch in the backpack is a journey I'd recommend to anyone.
It is healthy physical exercise that creates wonderful memories. 40 And given the chance, hiking teaches us important truths about life.
A.Most of our hikes only last 2 hours.
B.I've fallen in love with climbing mountains.
C.I love the stillness and calm of an empty path.
D.But mostly, to be honest, I just wasn't interested.

When I was seventeen, Dad praised me.I remember it because it was the first time.Until then, nothing I had done seemed good enough for him.And he always liked to blame (责备) me.
For example, when I was young, he would take us—his seven sons—down to help with his own business at the same school I attended. One night.Dad said to me angrily, “Hey! Look at all the things you missed! Why don't you wake up You're not going to amount to anything!”
At seventeen, I wrote and performed (表演) a show that was a huge success.Tickets for the show sold out in a few minutes. Finally, my dad said, “Paul, I've never been so proud in my life!Nothing John did could compare to this.” John, my elder brother, was the star of the family, and he was a football hero.John even called our father “Pop”, another thing that made me feel that he was much closer to him than the rest of us who called him “Dad”.
Why did he have to bring up John? Why couldn't he just praise me?I thought that my father couldn't even praise people in a correct way.
For years, Dad was a disappointment (令人失望的人).Up until I started teaching, I had always seen Dad as “C”.But while teaching and experiencing a classroom of teenagers who almost drove me crazy, I finally understood what it was like for my dad to be dealing with seven sons.I became angry sometimes, but it wasn't a mistake — it was part of my hope of wanting to make a difference in their lives. And, yes, it was a fear of losing control of not being liked. In order to make me better, Dad risked being disliked.I was out to be better than him; he was out to make me better. In his heart there was a worry for his every kid.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
So I decided to forgive (原谅) him.

I freed myself from those bad feelings as well.

参考范文:
So I decided to forgive (原谅) him.Dad had been doing his best to raise his seven sons.It was I who couldn't view anything in a positive way.So I went back to my old school where I could find him.As I stood outside the window, I realised that Dad was not the only person I needed to forgive.I also needed to forgive myself, because for all the years I had hidden my bad feelings.I always became angry and even couldn't enjoy my life.
I freed myself from those bad feelings as well.I began to realise that Dad was my biggest supporter.Dad was never against me.His praise was true, but I refused to accept it.Perhaps it is because my mom's love was always obvious and simple, while Dad's was totally different.“Well, there is something I do have to say,” I said.“Thank you, Pop.” And he has been “Pop” ever since—a name that not only John but also I can call.
