Teaching content: Unit 9 Planning a party (A)
Teaching aims: teach the pupils to learn some new words about snacks and how to express the content in English.
Key Points: Learn the new words “potato chips, popcorn, biscuits, sweets, lemonade, orange juice” and practice the sentence I like….
Difficult points:
1. Master the words: potato chips, popcorn, biscuits, sweets, lemonade, orange juice
2. Say simple words, phrases or sentences by looking at the objects or pictures.
Teaching materials: flash cards, teaching software, some real snacks
Step1 Warming-up
1. Greeting the pupils: Good morning, class!
Good morning, Miss Xie!
2. Free talk: How are you today

Step2 Revision
Show some pictures about food and help them to revise and try to express:

Step3 Presentation
1. Show a photo of Koko, Tell them : Let me introduce a new friend to you. Her name is Koko, Today is her birthday, let’s sing a song for her. Ok (Sing happy birthday song) Koko is going to plan a party this evening.(Write down the title on the board.) Let’s go shopping for her.(Show a picture of a supermarket) Show some fruits in the mall. Ask: What do you like Get them to answer.
2. What’s that It’s potato chips. I like potato chips, What do you like Get them to answer.
3. Use biscuits to lead in “biscuits”.
4. “Potato chips’” or “ biscuits ”, Which one do you like Ask them to say.
5. Potato chips, biscuits or sweets. Which one do you like If the pupils response: I like sweets. I’ll give a sweet as a gift. Then teach the word ‘sweets’, and tell them “sweets” can also call candy, we can’t eat too much sweets, it’s bad for our teeth.

9. Do a survey: Oranges can make orange juice, Apples can make apple juice, Mangoes can make mango juice.
10. Play a missing game.
After I present all new words, I require them to follow me to read together.
Step4 Drill
