动词不定式
动词不定式的基本结构为:to+do(动词原形),否定式为:not to do。本单元我们主要学习动词不定式作宾语、宾语补足语和目的状语的用法。
语法精讲精练
1. 作宾语:
(1)我们将to do(动词不定式)放在动词(如choose, hope, offer, want, decide, learn, plan, wish, agree, dare, expect, fail, help, manage, prepare, pretend, promise, refuse 等)后面作宾语。
I want to ask him a question.我想问他一个问题。
I cannot afford to buy a new car.我买不起一辆新车。
(2)我们也可以用“疑问词(如what, how, where, when, who等)+to do”放在动词(如decide, know, learn, remember等)后面作宾语。
I don't know how to tell him the bad news.
我不知道怎样告诉他这个坏消息。
He didn’t tell me where to go.
他没告诉我他要去哪里。
2. 作宾语补足语:
(1)我们将to do 放在“动词+宾语”后面作宾语补足语: v.+objects(宾语)+to do(宾补)。常见的此类动词有ask, advise, allow, encourage, force, get, help, invite, order, permit, require, teach, tell, want, warn, wish等。
The teacher told us to do exercises.老师叫我们做练习。
The doctor advised Jack to give up smoking.
医生建议Jack戒烟。
(2)在使役动词和感官动词后面需要省略to,常见的此类动词可用口诀“一感二听三让五看半帮助”来归纳,
即:一感——feel;二听——hear/listen to;三让——make/have/let;五看——see/watch/look at/notice/observe;半帮助——help(to可以省略,也可以不省略)。
Mum made him go to bed early. 妈妈让他早点睡觉。
They let him do it alone. 他们让他一个人做这件事。
3. 作目的状语:
(1)我们可以用to do来表目的,通常在译成中文时可用“为了”来表示。
(2)不定式用作目的状语有两个可能的位置,一是在句首,二是在句末。一般说来,用于句首属于强调性用法,即强调动词的目的。有时为了特别强调目的状语,可以在不定式之前加上in order或so as,即构成in order to do sth. 和so as to do sth. 结构。
We stood up to get a better view. = To get a better view, we stood up. 我们站起身来为了看得更清楚。
I have turned off my phone in order to get some sleep. 我已经把电话关了,以便可以睡会儿觉。
I’ll write down his telephone number so as not to forget it. 我要把他的电话号码写下来,以免忘记。

我们用动名词(v.+-ing)来表示动作或活动。动名词通常为不可数,前面不能加a 或an,谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。动名词可以有自己的宾语。

动词不定式
动词不定式的基本结构为:to+do(动词原形),否定式为:not to do。本单元我们主要学习动词不定式作宾语、宾语补足语和目的状语的用法。
1. 作宾语:
(1)我们将to do(动词不定式)放在动词(如choose, hope, offer, want, decide, learn, plan, wish, agree, dare, expect, fail, help, manage, prepare, pretend, promise, refuse 等)后面作宾语。
I want to ask him a question.我想问他一个问题。
I cannot afford to buy a new car.我买不起一辆新车。
(2)我们也可以用“疑问词(如what, how, where, when, who等)+to do”放在动词(如decide, know, learn, remember等)后面作宾语。
I don't know how to tell him the bad news. 我不知道怎样告诉他这个坏消息。
He didn’t tell me where to go. 他没告诉我他要去哪里。
2. 作宾语补足语:
(1)我们将to do 放在“动词+宾语”后面作宾语补足语: v.+objects(宾语)+to do(宾补)。常见的此类动词有ask, advise, allow, encourage, force, get, help, invite, order, permit, require, teach, tell, want, warn, wish等。
The teacher told us to do exercises.老师叫我们做练习。
The doctor advised Jack to give up smoking. 医生建议Jack戒烟。
(2)在使役动词和感官动词后面需要省略to,常见的此类动词可用口诀“一感二听三让五看半帮助”来归纳,
即:一感——feel;二听——hear/listen to;三让——make/have/let;五看——see/watch/look at/notice/observe;半帮助——help(to可以省略,也可以不省略)。
Mum made him go to bed early. 妈妈让他早点睡觉。
They let him do it alone. 他们让他一个人做这件事。
3. 作目的状语:
(1)我们可以用to do来表目的,通常在译成中文时可用“为了”来表示。
(2)不定式用作目的状语有两个可能的位置,一是在句首,二是在句末。一般说来,用于句首属于强调性用法,即强调动词的目的。有时为了特别强调目的状语,可以在不定式之前加上in order或so as,即构成in order to do sth. 和so as to do sth. 结构。
We stood up to get a better view. = To get a better view, we stood up. 我们站起身来为了看得更清楚。
I have turned off my phone in order to get some sleep. 我已经把电话关了,以便可以睡会儿觉。
I‘ll write down his telephone number so as not to forget it.
我要把他的电话号码写下来,以免忘记。

动名词
我们用动名词(v.+-ing)来表示动作或活动。动名词通常为不可数,前面不能加a 或an,谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。动名词可以有自己的宾语。
