countryside在此处等同于country,都是“乡下，农村”之意，往往和冠词“the” 搭配连用。

“ feed … with …词组表示“用……喂……”,此时等同于“feed … on …” ,短语中feed是及物动词,其后接人或动物名词作宾语。
