拓展 若对 not...until 引导的时间状语从句进行强调,有以下两种形式:(1)将 not until 引导的从句置于句首,此时主句部分倒装。如:Not until I have fulfilled my task shall I be able to go to themovies.直到完成任务我才能去看电影。(2)使用“It is/was...that”强调句型。如:It was not until he was actually dying that he said, “I can workfor the people no more.”直到他临终之前,他才说:“我再也不能为人民工作了。”
两种句型可以相互转换:It was not until the rain stopped that he left the room.→Not until the rain stopped did he leave the room.

常用连词有 because, since, as, for, now that (既然)等。 如:He was unhappy, because his mother was ill.
他不高兴是因为他妈妈病了。Since everyone knows it, I will not say anything.
因为每个人都知道了,我就不多说了。You must hurry up as there is little time left.
你必须快点,因为没有多少时间了。The day breaks, for the birds are singing.
天亮了,因为鸟在叫。You ought to have a good rest now that you've finished the work.既然已经完成了工作,你就应该好好休息一下。注意:1.because 表示直接的原因,具有很强的因果关系,专门回答对 why 的提问,不能与 so 连用。如:—Why were you late again?你为什么又迟到了?—I was late because I didn't catch the bus.
我迟到是因为没赶上汽车。2 .since =now that, 表示已知或显然的原因,意为“既然”,通常放在句首。如:Since/Now that you are busy, I will do it for you.
既然你忙,我替你做吧。3.for 的语气不如 because 强,是用来表示一种附带或补充解释、说明,通常不放在句首。如:We must leave now, for the film begins at seven.
我们得走了,因为电影七点钟开始放映。二、结果状语从句 结果状语从句是表示事态结果的从句,通常主句是原因,
从句是结果。常用 so that, so...that, such...that 等引导。如:
1.so that 可以引导结果状语从句,也可以引导目的状语从句。如:He was worried so that he couldn't sleep.他急得睡不着。(so that 引导结果状语从句)I came to the class early so that I could take the front seat.我赶早来上课, 以便能坐在前排。(so that 引导目的状语从句) 2.表示“如此……以至于……”的 so...that 和 such...that
均可引导结果状语从句,其中 so是副词,用于修饰形容词或副
词;such 是形容词,用于修饰名词。具体的搭配形式为:(1)so+adj./adv.+that 或 so+adj.(+a/an)+n.+that;
(2)such (+a/an)(+adj.)+n.+that。如:He is so young a boy that he can't go to school.=He is such a young boy that he can't go to school.
他年纪太小,以至于还不能去上学。 注意:在many, much, few, little等表示数量多少的词前,要
用 so 而不用 such;但若 little 表示“小”,则仍用 such。如:
There is so little water in the bottle that we have to share.瓶子里的水太少,我们只好分着用。They are such little ants that most of people don't believe theyare powerful.它们是如此小的蚂蚁,以致大多数人不相信它们非常有力量。三、目的状语从句引导目的状语从句最常用的词( 组) 有 so, so that, in orderthat, in case (以防,以免)等。 如:She has bought the book in order that she could follow the TVlessons.为了可以跟着电视课程学,她已经买了书。He left early in case he should miss the train.
他很早就走了以免错过火车。注意:so that/in order that 引导目的状语从句,常和情态动词 may (might)/can (could)/should 等连用。如:Speak clearly, so that they may understand you.

作,可指一般意义的影响(不分好坏),也可指不良影响。如:To affect a policy is to have an effect on it.影响一项政策就是对该政策具有一种影响。(2)effect 是名词,常用于 have an effect on/upon 结构。如:The news had no effect on her at all.=The news did not affect her at all.
这条消息对她没有一点影响。注意:effect 作及物动词时不表示“影响”,而表示“实现;产生”等。如:They effected their escape in the middle of the night.

原形。be 可以换为 get, become, grow 等连系动词,表示一个慢
慢习惯的过程。如:I'm used to walking to my office.我习惯步行去办公室。He felt lonely in the first month abroad, but after some time hegot used to living alone.在国外最初的一个月他感到孤独,但一段
时间之后他习惯了这种独处。拓展 (1)be used to do 表示“(某物)被用来做……”。如:This knife can be used to cut things.

而是因其出色表现符合评奖条件而得奖,强调对奖励的评定及
授予。如:She won an annual award made by the British Council.
她获得英国委员会颁发的年度奖。He was awarded the first prize for Outstanding IndustrialDesign.他获杰出工业设计一等奖。 (2)reward 作名词时,意为“赏金、酬金或一些非金钱的报
酬”。用作动词时,reward 则表示“报答,酬谢”,指因做了好

我一完成工作就去看你。 4.no sooner...than 和 hardly...when 引导的时间状语从句表
示“刚……就……”,主句中的动词一般用过去完成时,从句
用过去时;当 no sooner 或 hardly 位于句首时,主句采用部分倒
装,即把助动词 had 提前。如:Hardly had I entered the room when I heard loud noise.

“一……就……”时也可引导时间状语从句。某些名词短语如the minute, the instant, the day, the year, every time, the first time

whatever, no matter who (how...), whether...or 等词引导。1.although/though 引导让步状语从句(1)although/though 引导让步状语从句时常可互换,不可与连词 but 连用,但可与 yet, still 等连用。如:Although it's raining, they are still working in the field.

指同一个人或物时,从句中的主语和谓语动词 be 可以省略。
