Part C Story time教案
Good morning , dear judges and teachers
It’s my honor to stand here and share my lesson with you, today my topic is《PEP Primary English》Book 4 Unit 2 What time is it Part C Story time. Now, I’ll explain my lesson from the following seven parts.
Part Ⅰ Analysis of teaching material
There are six units and two recycles in Book 4, and this is unit 2 what time is it This Unit is about how to ask time and talk about it’s time to do /for something .It includes 3 parts, And today we’ll learn Part C story time. It mainly deals with the key sentence patterns: What time is it It’s … o’clock, And tell the western festival: April Fools’ Day.
Part Ⅱ Analysis of the students
As my students in Grade four, I think they’re active and curious. They’re interested in new things. After learning English for one year, they have some basic English background knowledge, so the teacher should attach importance to the communication with them, providing them with chances of using language.
Part Ⅲ Teaching aim
According to the contents and the fact of students, I set the following aims.
Knowledge aims
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to Read the phrases: wake up/get up/April Fool and read the story correctly.
Ability aims
By the end of the lesson, students can perform the story and feel the fun of the story.
Emotion aims
In this lesson, students can feel the joy of reading and know some Chinese and western festivals.
Part Ⅳ Key and difficult points
According to the teaching aims, I think the key point of this lesson is to make sure that students can feel the fun of the story.
And the difficult point is that students can perform the story vividly.
Part Ⅴ Teaching methods and aids
In order to let students study in a relaxing atmosphere, I’ll mainly use TPR Teaching Method and Situational Teaching Method.
As for the teaching aids, I’ll use the multi-media, pictures and head wears.
Part Ⅵ Teaching procedures
There are six steps of my class, and before my class, I will introduce the rules of this lesson. First, I will divide the whole class into two groups: Boy Group & Girl Group .There are some tips of reading, Ss can get stars based on their reading skills. After that, the better group will win.
Step 1 Warming up
We’ll enjoy an English song: It’s twelve o’clock.
We’ll have a free talk about What time do you usually get up Who wake you up …...
purpose : to form a better English learning surrounding for students, and at the same time, it provides situations to review the knowledge they have learn.
Step 2 Presentation
I’ll show a picture, let students look at it and answer the questions: (1)What can you see (2)Who are they (3)What are they do “It’s April 1st. It’s seven o’clock and It’s time to get up”.〝Wake up, zoom. It’s time to get up.〞I’ll explain the phrase: Wake up/ get up by using pictures. And then, I’ll let students guess: Is zoom awake “zoom wants to sleep. All of us pretend to sleep.”At the same time, I’ll show this picture and say: “Wake up, children, what time is it now ”“It’s eight o’clock? what time is it now ”Ask students read the story and tick the table.
Let Ss think why the clock has different times. Let Ss read again and get the answer. The fact is that zip made a joke to zoom, Because it’s April Fools’ Day.
Purpose: to present the interesting facts of the story, students think it’s funny, and they want to know what will happen. Interest is the best teacher.
Step 3 Consolidation
Ask students to see the video of the story and read after it.
Discuss and think: (1)The origin of April Fools’ Day and what will
people do on April Fools’ Day (2)What Chinese/western festivals do you know
Purpose : to help students understand the story better and broaden their
knowledge.
Step 4 Role play
Ask students to play the story in roles.
Two pupils a group, one plays Zip and the other one plays Zoom, I’ll remind students of the three advice: Correctly、 Fluently 、Vividly. And divide the whole class into two groups: boy group and girl group. They can get small heart shapes based on their reading skills.
Purpose: to help students use language in a real situation.
Step 5 Extension
See the picture book: Silly Sally, and then answer the questions.
Purpose: to develop students’ ability of reading, And also, their interest of reading will be well raised.
Step 6 Homework
1. Read and act out the story.
2. Continue the story on page 7.
The homework has two levels, students can choose one and do it seriously.
Part Ⅶ Blackboard design
Just like this, it mainly tells Ss the key words and sentences, and tell students that if you read a story you should pay attention to the following advice: Correctly、 Fluently 、Vividly.
In a word, the class is based on interest, if you can catch the attention of students, your class if half the battle.
