Among many celebrated U.S. places for very cool sunsets, here are notable favorites.
California Dreamin'
While you are visiting California Dreamin', El Matador's eye-catching nightfall is a worthy way to lead you into deep thought. It is about the sands of time. Pack a basket of delicious food for a late — in — the — day picnic overlooking the Pacific Ocean, via the Pacific Coast Highway. The sunset is a sweet dessert.
Grand Canyon, Arizona
The 1,218,375-acre Grand Canyon National Park is wonderful. The canyon itself stretches 277 miles. Its wildlife is also so abundant. You can go to the South Rim of the canyon (大峡 谷),which offers the best sunset advantages. Sometimes, you can see deer running and eagles flying with the sunset standing as the background. An unforgettable thrill: a flying sunset tour by Canyon Tours.
Florida Serenity
Called the River of Grass, Everglades National Park - South Florida's amazing 1.5-million-acre wetlands preserve — is quilted with coastal trees and grass. An especially chosen sunset-watching site is near Mrazek Pond, approximately three miles north of the Flamingo Visitor Center. This is a birder's dream place, too, home to more than 360 species.
Hawaii Aloha
Haleakala Crater in Hawaii Aloha, a vast dormant (休眠的)volcano 10,023 feet above sea level, is famous for its sunrises — so much so that dawn sun-seekers climb the volcano in the middle of the night to make the long drive up a winding road to the summit. But Haleakala's sunsets are just as amazing. Since fewer people arrive late in the day, a more personal sunset participation is possible. Consider a private or group sunset hike to appreciate the Pacific Ocean. It is worthwhile.
21. How can visitors experience the excitement of Grand Canyon
A. Taste a sweet dessert.
B. Appreciate the view from the air.
C. See the eagles flying over the canyon.
D. Walk through the canyon to the South Rim.
22. What is the special part of Haleakala Crater
A. It is in Hawaii Aloha.
B. Visitors can enjoy the Pacific Ocean.
C. Visitors can have an unforgettable picnic.
D. It has both wonderful sunsets and sunrises.
23. Where is a good place for bird-watching
A. Hawaii Aloha. B. Florida Serenity.
C. California Dreamin'. D. Grand Canyon, Arizona.

A man is lucky to be alive after a horrible meet with a bear in Alaska. The unidentified man, who is said to be in his 50s, spent several days fighting for survival in the wilderness as a bear followed him — but then a Coast Guard helicopter team came to his rescue on Friday, July 16.
Commander Carbajal told the newspaper that their Coast Guard helicopter had changed course to avoid cloud cover on their way to a task when the shocking discovery was made. Though it was uncommon for the Coast Guard to come across people in need in the middle of nowhere, they noticed a shack (棚屋)with "SOS" and "help me” written on the roof.
The man later told his rescuers he had been staying at the shack since July 12. In those five days, he suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including damage to his leg.
“He was kind of struggling. When we came around, he was on his hands and knees waving a white flag," Commander Carbajal said. "He definitely looked like he had been out there for a while,5, he added.
"At some point, a bear had dragged him down to the river," Commander Carbajal said. “He had a gun but the bullets were not enough. He said that the bear kept coming back every night and he hadn't slept for a few days.”
It is reported that 68 people in the state were sent to hospitals in 66 bear attacks from 2000 to 2017. Ten people died from bear attacks during that period. Things were not going well for David McCartney on the evening of Jan. 9, 2006. The Darlington, Indiana father of two was running late to a meeting and had been stopped for a speeding ticket. But the delay put him right where he needed to be when Elizabeth Testerman's car ran out of the road and burst into flames. Thinking fast, McCartney called 911 and, with help from two others, ran to Testerman's car and pulled her from the car. "I got to save a life," says McCartney, 37. “So it wound up being a pretty good day.”
That life-changing event led to a longtime friendship with Testerman, who encouraged him to continue doing good things for other people before her death in 2011. In 2019, her message inspired McCartney - a longtime distance runner - to donate his kidney(肾脏)to a stranger.
Since then, McCartney's goal has been to run 50-plus-mile marathons in every U.S. state to increase awareness about becoming a living donor, while also raising money for Team Mason, a local organization that brings awareness to kidney disease and helps send kids to Kidney Camp. McCartney also had to accept the fact that he never got to meet the person who received his kidney, because they chose to remain anonymous. "I would have liked to shake their hand," he explains. ''But you can't know what people are going through.”
Following his recovery period, McCartney and Elijah, who is his son, finally got back to running - but this time, with a new purpose. "We're trying to get people involved in all 50 states," says McCartney. "We've got to take this platform as far as we can," "It's a big undertaking/5 adds McCartney.
