Mother's day is a celebration in memory of mothers, it celebrates the importance of mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, mostly in magical on me I let see how different people celebrate their mother's day.
Mexico(May 10)Children make gifts and give them to their mothers on Mother's Eve(May 9). On the morning of May 10, families, make a special trip to church and eat tamales(玉米饼), sometimes filled with meat, cheese or vegetables.
South Africa (Second Sunday of May)Besides giving mums Mother's Day cards, people show their thanks for their mothers by wearing red and pink flowers called carnations. If their mothers have passed away, they wear white carnations.
United Kingdom(Fourth Sunday of lent(大斋期))
Mother's day is a traditional day for people to visit their hometowns and attend their home churches. People also bake special fruitcakes to give to their mums.
Indonesia(December 22)
People throw big parties for their mums, filled with fun activities--such as cooking competitions and kebaya-- wearing competitions!(A kebaya is a traditional blouse and skirt.)

The Louvre is one of the most famous museum in the world. It's in the heart of parents along the Seine River, and it shows its visitors a wonderful collection of art from all over the world. Almost 10 million people visit the Louvre every year. The museum has more than a million pieces of art, but at the moment only 35, 000 pieces are on display.
The Louvre was built as a fortress(防御工事) in the 12th century. As time went on it became bigger, and some parts were rebuilt and new wings were added. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Louvre served as the palace for French Kings. It became an art museum when the French King Louis XVI moved to Versailles. During the French Revolution(革命), the Louvre became a public museum. New collections have been added ever since.
The museum offers collections from early Mesopotamia, ancient Greece and Egypt, the Roman Empire down to the art of the 19th century.
The most famous painting in the Louvre is Mona Lisa by Lenoardo da Vinci. Other popular works of art include The Code of Hammurabi, The Venus of Milo and The Dying Slave by Michelangelo.
In the 1980s, the Louvre was entirely rebuilt. It changed greatly. In front of the Louvre, there is a glass pyramid(金字塔). People enter the museum through it.
The Louvre is made of three separate wings. It's so big that you simply cannot see everything in a single day. The museum offers many guided tours that help visitors.
