People relish (享受) it and make it’s a special occasion. In France, it is correct to keep the same knife for every course , wiping it on a piece of bread. Never discuss money or religion over dinner. Going Dutch is considered “the height of unsophistication”. It’s considered good manners to finish everything on your plate. People often cut bread directly on a table cloth rather than on a plate. Step 2 Presentation 语法 1. “be supposed to”的用法 1). be supposed to意为“应该;被期望/期待; 理应”,用来表示根据规定人们不得不做某事,或期待发生某事,时态、人称和句式的变化在be上体现,to为不定式符号,后接动词原形。 2). be supposed to do的否定式,要在be后加not, 此时相当于be not allowed to do, 意为“不被许可;不应当”。 3). 如果表达“过去某时应该(不应该)做”时,用was (wasn’t) / were (weren’t) supposed to do, 相当于should (shouldn’t) have+动词过去分词。 be supposed to do sth. “应该做某事”, 某人被期望做某事, 主语通常是人, 相当于be expected to do sth.,常用来提出建议,其否定结构为be not supposed to do sth.。 You’re supposed to get there early. 你应该早点到那儿。 You’re not supposed to smoke here. 你们不应该在这里吸烟。 拓展: ★当be supposed to的主语为“物”时,意为“本应,本该”,表示某事本应该发生而没有发生。 The train was supposed to arrive ten minutes ago. 火车应该在十分钟前到达。 ★当be supposed to的主语是人时,后面还可以接“have + 过去分词”,意为“本应,应该”,表示本应该做某事而没做。 You are supposed to have arrived in Beijing now. 你本应该现在已经到了北京了。 be supposed to do sth. & should的区别 be supposed to do sth为系表结构,强调客观上有责任/义务作某事。 You are supposed to clean the blackboard, for you are on duty today. should 强调主观上应该做某事。 You should study hard, for you are a student. 2.be expected to表达“被期许(预期)会做某事, 希望做某事,表示一种可能性。 e.g. She was expected to arrive before dinner. 希望她晚餐前到达。 be supposed to do相对于be expected to do主观性更强一些。 It be + adj. +to do sth. 3.It be important to do sth. ….做某事很重要。 e.g. It is important to learn English well. 学好英语很重要。 Step 4 Practice Work on 4a. 1. 让学生读句子,学习新词,了解句意,选择合适的短语填空。 2.
