Teaching process: activities
Step1. Greeting and warming up Greet with the students . Do a warming up: sing a finger family song together. (students will get ready for English class. And get into English atmosphere.) Step2. Divide the groups Divide students in two groups : a boy’s group and a girl’s group. (This will stimulate student’s sense of competition) Step3.Review Review the words we have learned last time by playing games. Free talk Teacher and students will have a free talk to lead in the new lesson. (play a quick response game to review the words .free talk will review the sentence and let us talk part . ) Step4.presentation A .Chant learning Meet Xiao Xin’s family. Fill in the blanks about Xiao Xin’s Family. learn :“small. Tall. not so tall.”according to the pictures . (This will help students understand the meaning of the chant.) learn to Sing the chant with body languages. Play a game (cut the watermelon).students will practice the chant . 6.Fill in the blanks to expand and use the knowledge in chant part. B. Talk learning 1. Introduce a friend:Jack a. Meet Jack’s family .and enjoy a song. b. Play a game: finding mummy rabbit. use:“who’s that…”to ask and answer. C. Play a guessing game to know more about Jack’s family and practice “who’s that…” 2.Talk about the super stars using “who’s that…..” (In this way, students have already master the important sentences in this lesson.) introduce another friend: sarah. Read the pictures about the let us talk part. And answer the question: who are they See the flash and answer: Question1: Who’s that man Question2: Where are they Read the let us talk part. Listen and imitate. Read by themselves. Fill in the blanks (check the student’s memory of the let us talk. ) Group work to read the talk and make their own dialogue.
