Twenty years ago, Mr Li was a teacher. He taught Chinese. Chen Hai was in his class. He was a good pupil. He studied very hard.
Now Mr Li doesn’t work. He’s learning English. Chen Hai is an English teacher. He’s teaching Mr Li.
二十年前,李先生是一位老师。他教语文。陈海在他的班级里。他是一位优秀的小学生。他学习非常努力。
现在李先生不工作了。他正在学习英语。陈海是一位英语老师。他正在教李先生。

Twenty years ago, Mr Li was a teacher.
二十年前,李先生是一位老师。
固定句型:主语+动词的过去式+其他.
用法:一般过去时态表示过去发生的动作。在一般过去时的句子中动词要用过去式。
例句:He played basketball yesterday. 昨天他打篮球了。

知识拓展:动词过去式的变化规则
(1)一般在动词词尾加-ed。
work—worked rain—rained watch—watched
(2)如果动词以字母e结尾,变过去式时直接在词尾加-d。
love—loved live—lived change—changed
(3)以重读闭音节结尾,末尾只有一个元音字母和一个辅音字母的词,变过去式时要双写这个辅音字母,再加-ed。
stop—stopped plan—planned drop—dropped
(4)如果动词是以“辅音字母+y”结尾,变过去式时要变y为i再加-ed。

Now Mr Li doesn’t work. 现在李先生不工作了。
用法:一般现在时的句子,如果主语为第三人称单数,其否定句是在谓语动词前加doesn’t,然后把动词变为原形。
例句:He doesn’t work on Sundays. 周日他不工作。
知识拓展:一般现在时的句子,若主语不是第三人称单数,其否定句是在动词前加don’t。
We don’t work on Sundays. 周日我们不工作。

用法:现在进行时主要表示现在或目前这一阶段正在进行的动作。
例句:I am working. 我正在工作。
知识拓展:现在分词的变化规则
(1) 一般情况下在词尾直接加-ing。
think—thinking sleep—sleeping
(2)以不发音的字母e结尾的单词,去掉字母e,再加-ing。
make—making come—coming take—taking
(3)以重读闭音节结尾,末尾只有一个元音字母和一个辅音字母的单词,先双写末尾的辅音字母,再加-ing。
sit—sitting run—running
(4)以ie结尾的动词,把ie变为y,再加-ing。
lie—lying die—dying
