用法：quarter 可以用来指距离、数量、价格及物体的四分之一，也可专指时间的“一刻钟，十五分钟”。

辨析：to, after 和 past
这三个词均可表示钟点。表示在30分钟之内可以用 after 或 past，但前者一般用于美式英语，而后者在美式英语和英式英语中通用；表示超过30分钟的时间时要用 to，其后接下一个钟点。
例句：By my watch it is a quarter to six now. 按我的手表现在是差一刻六点。
