【例句】
He was born on 1st October, 1949.
He was born in Shanghai.
【考点】
born实际上是过去分词的用法，形成了be born（出生于），它的原形是bear。
This plant bears no fruit. 这种植物长不出果实。
这里面还需要大家注意的就是出生日期的用法，具体的日期应该用on，而地点则应考虑和in搭配。

friendly 是一个形容词，像这样以ly结尾的形容词在英语中还有很多：

early 早的 ugly 丑陋的 silly 愚蠢的

The teacher is friendly to all his students.

【考点】以ly结尾的副词大家可能见过很多，但是以ly结尾的形容词则屈指可数，因此希望大家单独进行记忆，另外，一些形容词和副词同形的单词，大家也应该予以关注。如最常见的两个：fast 快的 hard 努力的

【考点】
“with表示伴随状态”在中考中以及各类型考试中是一个常见考点。

动词的过去式：本单元我们主要接触的是be动词的相关用法。
【句析】
be动词的过去式有两种形式：第一种是单数was，而第二种是复数were。根据“情助be实四步变句法“，这样的句子我们直接在be动词上面进行变化。
【例句】
He was busy last week.
He was not busy last week.
—Was he busy last week
—Yes, he was./No, he was not.

一般过去时表示过去发生的动作或存在的状态，与表示过去的一些时间状语连用。如：yesterday, last night／ week／ month／ year, last Saturday, the day before yesterday, in 1998, five years ago等。

句型：主语 + was/were...

句型：主语 + was/were + not...
否定式的was not，were not大多使用缩写形式wasn’t和weren’t：
I was not here yesterday.
He wasn't busy the other day.
There weren't any students in the classroom.

3. be动词过去时的一般疑问句
句型：Was/Were + 主语...
回答方式：Yes, 主语 + was/were... / No，主语 + wasn’t/weren’t...
Were you here yesterday —Yes, I was.
Was there any water in the river then —Yes, there was./ No, there wasn’t.

4. be动词过去时的特殊疑问句
句型：疑问代词（主语）/疑问限定词的名词词组（主语） + was/were...
