it的用法和常用句型
it可以作代词,形式主语,形式宾语,还可以用于强调句中。
一、it作代词
1. 指前面已经提到的事物、不知性别的婴儿或身份不明的人(由于某种原因而不知道对方是谁)。
e.g. He bought a book and gave it to me.
John has got a dog; he has had it for four
months.
Someone is ringing the doorbell. Go and see who it is.
2. 表示天气、日期、时间、距离等。
e.g. It is raining heavily outside.
It’s Monday today.
It’s a long time since we met last time.
It’s about two kilometers from here to the station.
3. 用以代替指示代词this, that。

二、it作形式主语或形式宾语
1. it作形式主语
1) 真实主语是不定式或动词-ing形式。
e.g. It would be a pity to miss this opportunity.
It’s no good standing here in the cold. Let’s go home.
2) 真实主语是主语从句。常见句型如下:
a. It+be +名词+主语从句。
It is a pity/ shame that… 真可惜……
It is no wonder that… 不足为奇,并不奇怪
e.g. It is a great pity (that) he can’t swim.
You past the exam It is no wonder that you look so happy.
b. It+be+形容词+主语从句。
It is certain that… 肯定……
It is well-known that… 众所周知……
e.g. It is certain that we shall be late.
It is impossible that it (should) be a mere
coincidence.
It’s strange that he knows nothing about it.
It was not clear to me why he behaved like that.
c. It+动词(+宾语或状语)+主语从句。
It happens that… 碰巧……
It occurs to / comes to/ strikes / hits sb. that…

d. It+动词的被动语态+主语从句。

2. it作形式宾语
1) 真实宾语是不定式或动词-ing形式,
主语+think/ believe/ suppose/ consider/ feel/ make/ keep…+it +adj./n.+for/ of+sb. to do sth./ that从句
主语+think/ believe/ suppose/ consider/ feel/ make/ keep…+it +no use/ no good…doing sth.
e.g. He felt it his duty to take good care of them.
I think it very unwise going on like this.
2) 真实宾语是从句。常见句型如下:
a. 主语+动词+it +形容词+ that从句。
e.g. I find it amazing that anyone would want to listen to that music.
b. 主语+动词+it+if / when从句。常用于此句
型的动词有appreciate, enjoy, like, dislike, love, hate等。
e.g. She won’t like it if you arrive late.
He hates it when people use his bike.
c. 主语+短语动词(动词+介词)+it +that从
句。常用于此句型的短语动词有depend on,
answer for, see to等。
e.g. You may depend on it that he will turn up in time.
I’ll see to it that all these letters are sent to the post office before twelve.
三、it用于强调句中
为了强调句子的某一成分,常使用强调句型:It is / was ... that / who ...。
原句:Alice bought a Walkman from a store last week.
我们可以用下面四个强调结构分别强调句中的主语、宾语和两个状语。
①It was Alice who / that bought a Walkman
from a store last week. (强调主语Alice)
② It was a Walkman that Alice bought from a
store last week. (强调宾语a walkman)
③ It was from a store that Alice bought a
Walkman last week. (强调地点状语from a store)
④ It was last week that Alice bought a
Walkman from a store. (强调时间状语last week)
