Teaching Aims

2.Ability Objects: Train students to use the comparative adjectives oral expression ability. 3.Moral Objects:
(1)Edcucate the students how to make good frinds.
(2)Educate the students treasure the true friendship between friends better .
Teaching Key Points:
Students can describe characters’ appearance. And they can compare people’s personalities.
Know about the comparative degree of adjectives.
Teaching Difficult Points: (1)Know about the comparative degree of adjectives.
(2)Target language:Sam has longer hair than Tom. Teaching methods: 1) Task-based teaching method 2) The communicative method Teaching means: multi-media; body language; listening practice; question-answer drills. Teaching Procedures: Step 1: Warming up Greetings and brief introduction. Step 2: Revision and lead-in 1.Show some photos about famous persons, ask and answer ”What do they look like?“ to review the words ”tall, short, thin, heavy, long hair, short hair“and "quiet".( Revise the adjectives describing people's appearance and personalities.) 2.Look at the pictures of LiYongi , BaiYansong and a woman to learn the new words "outgoing ",”wild“and”calm“.
3.Pairwork:talk about your best friend. (观看李咏、白岩松等名人图片,通过问答"What does he/she look like?",”What do they look like?“,找出图中人物不同点,复习已学过内容,自然延伸到新课学习,起到承上启下的作用。词汇教学——采用情景介绍或展示图片的方式进行教学,让学生在情境中操练,理解含义并学会运用) Step 3: Presentation 1. Using the pictures to learn the comparatives, like: LiuXiang is taller than Pan Changjiang. Pan Changjiang is sorter than LiuXiang. Pan Changjiang is more outgoing than LiuXiang. The boy is nicer than the girl. etc. 2. Talk show:Compare your best friend with you using the comparative degree of adjectives we have studied this class. For example: I'm taller than ZhangSan I'm smarter than him. (通过对比强烈的图片学习形容词比较级,易于理解;并紧接着练习加深印象;比较自己和朋友,比较级的应用,口语锻炼,巩固所学,情感升华: A friend is easier lost than found. 珍惜友谊。)
Step 4 The key vocabulary Ask students to open their books and turn to Page 31 , Focus attention on Activity 1a , get students to read the words loudly and match each word with its opposite. For example, tall and short. Ask students to do this activity individually. Then check the answers. (词汇练习,检查学生掌握情况。) Step 5 Listening 1. Show the picture on the screen, and ask ”How many people are there in the picture?“ ( Nine ).
Play the tape for the students and ask them to do this activity. The first time, only listen. The second time, listen and number the pairs of twins (1-3) in the picture. 3.Check the answers: 4.Show the listening materials, and ask students to read them loudly.
