教学目标:
1、语言目标 词汇:allow, drive, pierce, driver, license, silly, earring, instead of等。
2、句型:(1)--I think students should be allowed to go out with their friends. --I agree. / I disagree. (2)--Do you think sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to work at night? --No, I don’t think so.
3、能力目标:(1)培养学生的听力能力。(2)培养学生运用语言目标进行交际的能力。
4、情感目标:学会谈论自己应该被允许做的事情和不应该被允许做的事情。学生勇于发表自己的观点和意见,表达同意和不同意;学生明白接受父母、老师的合理化建议,对他们成长的重要性。
教学重难点:
1、如何运用 should be allowed to 结构表达自己对各种规章制度的看法。2、表达同意和不同意。难点:含情态动词的被动语态结构should be allowed to。
教学过程:
Step 1 Warming up
Free talk:
T: (point a girl and ask) Who chose your coat?
GirL: My mother (Myself…) did.
T: Can’t you choose your own clothes. Girl: No, I can’t.
T(Ask all the class): Well. Who can choose your own clothes ?? Some students put up their hands and answer : We can.
?2、Show some activities on the screen to teach students: go out on school nights; have part-time jobs; get the ears pierced. Then ask students to discuss in groups : which can you do at home and which can’t you do at home? Students answer like this: I can... or I can’t...
Step 2 Leading-in
T: She is allowed to choose her clothes, and he isn’t allowed to go out at night. I also think you should be allowed to do homework with your friends. You should be allowed to choose your own clothes ., but you shouldn’t be allowed to go out at night.
Introduce the new structure and write it on the blackboard
---be allowed to .and show it on the screen.then change the sentence I can...into I is allowed to... then repeat some sentences with them, Using the same way to teach should (not) be allowed to do?
?Step 3. Pre-task
Students read the following sentences, then say “agree” or “disagree”.
1 Teenagers should be allowed to go out with their friends every night.
2 Sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to drive.
3 Students should not be allowed to have part-time jobs.
4 Sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to get their ears pierced.
5 ?Sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to choose their own clothes.
?Step 4. While-task
1. First make students understand the demand and the sentences in 1b, 2a and 2b . Then play the tape for students to listen and complete the exercise. Play the tape again and check the answers with the whole class. If necessary , play the tape for students to listen and repeat.
2. Pairwork
Work in pairs likes:
A: I don’t think sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to drive.
B: I agree. They aren’t serious enough. OR I disagree. ….
?3 Grammar Focus .show the statements and questions on the screen. Ask different pairs of students to read them. Then ask some pairs to make more sentences and write them on the blackboard. Check how well students understand each sentence by asking a student to repeat it in his/her own words. Point out I disagree, I agree and Do you think …? If necessary, give students more practice.
Step 5 Post-task
T:What should you do to make our class better?Discuss in groups and make rules.
If necessary, give them an example like this:
S :I think students should keep quiet in class.
S :I agree with you. We should listen to the teacher carefully. Students shouldn't be allowed to make noise in the classroom. Group leader write down “ Students shouldn’t be allowed to make noise in the classroom.
After that, ask some groups to read their rules.
Step 6 Summary and Homework
Say, in this class, we’ve done a lot of listening and speaking practice using the target language. And we’ve also talk about agreement and disagreement. Review the grammar box to get a further understanding of the target language.

Step 1 Revision
Play a game to review the structure be used to do.
Write sentence starters on separate pieces of paper as follows:
I’m allowed to……;My brother isn’t allowed to…;Students should not allowed to…;Put the papers in a paper bag. Put students into teams. Each team chooses a slip from the bag. Set a time limit of five minutes. Each team writes as many sentences and reasons as they can. When time is up, collect their answers. Each team gets one point for each correct sentence and one point for each correct reason. The team which gets the most points wins the game.

The S on duty gives a report on the rules in his home and lead in 3a “Sun Fei’s and Wu Yu’s rules”
Step 3 Reading
Ss read the conversation and write the two girls’ rules in the chart.
Check the answers.
Get Ss to read after the tape and then read aloud by themselves.
Then, T explains the language points.
Step 4 Pairwork 3b
Role play. Use the information in chart to practice with the conversation in 3a covered. They can look at the sample conversation in the right box.
Step 5 Task 2 “Who’s the best reporter?”
Make a survey by asking any 5 students the questions in the chart in activity 4. Then give out a report about it. See who is the best reporter? And the best reporter will get a nice ball-pen.
Step 6 Summary and homework:
Write out the report in your exercise-books.

Get Ss to talk about their answers with their partners using the sample conversation in the box on the right.
Step 4 Listening practice
2a Lead-in: What will happen if you get to school late? What about Peter? Let’s listen to a conversation between Peter and his father. Get Ss to finish 2a (As usual, for the first time, Ss only listen.) Check the answers.
2b Listen again, match these sentences parts. Check the answers.
Step 5 Group work 2c
Ss discuss the statements with their group members to practice oral English.
Step 6 Task 3:A debate
Choose one statement (No.3 Parents should not be too strict with teenagers.) as the topic for them to debate. Those who agree sit on one side, those who disagree sit on the other side. Before starting, each group have 2 minutes to get prepared. See which group is the winner.While debating, Ss should write down the opinions they hear for their homework.
Step 7 Summary and homework
Write an article about your own opinions to the topic debated in class.

Step 4 Task 4 The best opinion
“What school rules do you think should be changed in our school?” Get Ss to discuss with their partners and then write down what both of them think should be changed on the paper given by T. Later, discuss those statements on the paper with the whole class and tell them to give the best one to the headmaster as good advice.
Step 5 Task 5
Suppose: you and your partner are starting a new Saturday English club. Discuss with him. Make a list of rules about what should and should not be allowed.
