Monday Sunny
Today was my first senior high school day in Australia and I was excited. As an exchange student, I’m curious about everything about the school. So after leaving the registration office, I couldn’t wait to get around the campus. The playground is clean and big, with green trees standing on each side. In front of the library lies a beautiful garden. But what pleases me most is that everyone I met was friendly. They all tried to offer me help.
I’m sure I will have a good time in such a beautiful school.

Paragraph 1:
Then the teacher guided us into a classroom. I found there were about twenty children. Their clothes were worn out; their school bags were just plastic ones. Immediately I felt sorry for them.
The teacher introduced us an and told them why we came here. Hearing that, all the children were excited, and told us the things they had wanted for long, such as picture books, new pencils and so on. My mom made a list of these things.
Paragraph 2
Holding the shopping list, my mom and I headed for a store. There I helped my mom pick up the things on the list. And I decided to buy something for the children using my own pocket money. My mom praised me for it. Then I added some candies to our supplies. These children were so glad and they thanked us when receiving the gifts. Some of them started reading the picture books and sharing the candies right away. That day, I learned doing something meaningful for others could also be a wonderful thing.

W: Cars are an important part of life in the United States. Without a car most people feel that they are poor. And even if a person is poor he doesn’t feel really poor when he has a car.
There are three reasons the car became so popular in the United States. First of all the country is a huge one and Americans like to move around in it. The car provides the most comfortable and cheapest form of transportation.
The second reason is that the United States never really developed a good and inexpensive system of public transportation. Long-distance trains have never been as common in the United States as they are in other parts of the world. Nowadays there is a good system of air-service provided by planes, but it is too expensive to be used frequently.
The third reason is the most Important one, though. The American spirit of independence is what really made cars popular. Americans don’t like to wait for a bus, or a train or even a plane. A car gives them more freedom to arrange their own time.
The gas shortage has caused a big problem for Americans. But the answer will not be a bigger system of pubic transportation. The real solution will have to be a new kind of car, which does not use so much gas.
