What is talent Are you born with it Or does it seem to develop over time Before I start I'd like to say that one thing everyone agrees on is that the most skilled musicians have worked hard to get there.
While it's true that a few of us had enough “talent” to avoid extra practice to do just as well as those who did, those who worked hard easily beat us. It is, in fact, very likely that if some of us “talented ones” had actually been practicing and improving our skill, we would have achieved a whole different level.
Another aspect of talent seems to be heart and passion (酷爱)。The people I see who are the most talented musicians are crazy about music. They eat, breathe, and live music and they make an extraordinary effort to make it part of their lives. As Remus Badea said, desire for the musician-to-be is significant for them to be successful. This desire is easily found in those considered to be talented. When you want and love something so bad, it drives you and your entire character can be shaped around it. Such determined passion seems to produce incredible skill and talent.
The third aspect (方面) of talent is having talent around you. When surrounded by talented musicians, it only seems natural that you start to catch up to their level. Take a look at almost any group of musicians in history. The more talented people in the group the more talented the group is as a whole. A great example of this is the relationship between audio producer and artist. The artist turns up to the studio with their song, and as they work through recording it, the audio producer will often suggest various changes to the song to make it better.
24.What can we learn from Paragraph 2
A.Pride goes before a fall. B. It's never too old to learn.
C.Practice contributes to talent. D.Talent determines achievements.
25. What is the key to success according to Remus Badea
A.Passion. B.Character. C.Skill. D.Talent.
26.Why is the example mentioned in the last paragraph
A. To introduce what real talents are. B.To show the benefits of being with talents.
C. To prove talents need team spirit. D.To explain how a song is composed.
27.What might the author probably agree with
A. Music has no limits. B.Musicians are born with talent.
C.Musicians are created, not born. D. Music favors the talented.
C
Online education has grown fast over the past ten years. The explosion of technology has made teaching outside the traditional classroom possible for teachers and has provided learners with easy access to course materials. Its attractiveness, benefits, and challenges are addressed.
In April,2005,I was approached by a student who was interested in our doctoral program. However, the first question out of her mouth was, “Do you offer any online courses ”Later that day,as I was reading the conference program guide trying for interesting presentations,I noticed many workshops on web-based learning and online education. I later attended two of those workshops and met several professors from different universities who had either taught online courses for quite some time or who were discovering the best practice for teaching online. These experiences helped me realize at least to some extent the degree of growth in online education.
My responsibilities for the term included gaining more understanding of online education. Consequently, I made several attempts to enrich my knowledge of distance learning and online teaching. I consulted with my colleagues who were teaching online courses. This helped me recognize the importance of getting materials prepared even before the start of a term. I also learned that online courses may consume more time than regular classroom teaching. And I attended several workshops regarding online education and established a network with those who were involved in online programs at other universities. I will consider these people as my consultants as I begin to design my own online course. Also, I conducted a brief survey with 15 students and two faculty members who had taken or taught an online course before to understand their experience. Eventually I completed a literature review which gave me the foundation and the background of understanding the need for online education.
28. What benefits the development of online education
A.Teachers' good teaching ability. B.Lack of traditional classrooms.
C.Learners 'access to free courses. D.The rapid advance of technology.
29.Why did the author take a student for example
A. To explain the growing trend of online education.
B.To predict the future of the teaching career.
C.To show students' love for the doctoral program.
D. To persuade learners of traditional education.
30. What caused the author to know more about online education
A.The appetite for knowledge. B.The professional responsibilities.
C.The requirement of research. D.The colleagues' encouragement.
31. What is the author's attitude to online education
A.Carefree. B.Doubtful. C.Supportive. D.Unwilling.

On Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicted that 42% of Americans could be overweight by 2030. Our expanding waistlines lead to not only a medical problem, but according to a recent article in The New York Times, it could also endangerpersonal safety in some situations-in an airplane crash, for example.
The New York Times' Christen Negroni reports that engineers and scientists are questioning whether airplane seats are adequately constructed to protect overweight travelers.Government standards for airplane seat strength(强度) - first set more than 60 years ago-require that.the seats be made for a passenger weighing 170 pounds (77kg). Today, the average American man weighs nearly 194 pounds (88kg) and the average woman 165 pounds (75kg). Negroni reports: “If a heavier person completely fills seat, the seat is not likely to behave as intended during a crash,” said Robert Salazar, the leading scientist at the Center for Applied Biomechanics at the University of Virginia. “The energy absorption that is built into the aircraft seat is likely to be overpowered and the passengers will not be protected properly.”
“Nor would the injury be limited to that passenger only,” Dr. Salzar said. “If a seat or a seat belt fails,” he said, “those people who are seated nearby could be endangered from 'the uncontrolled movements of the passenger'.”
Most complaints about airplane seats focus on their lack of comfort and high ticket price, and whether overweight passengers should be made to buy two seats. But The New York Times' article brings up another reason to feel anxious about flying. Investigators of the issue got in touch with the airplane seat and seat belt makers, but they refused to comment on the problem. Experts agreed that crash testing should be done with overweight dummies(人体模型)。Both airplane seats and seat belts should be tested, they said.
Fortunately, however, according to Nora Marshall, a senior adviser at the National Transportation Safety Board, the board's investigators have never seen an accident involving a commercial plane in which the weight of a passenger was a problem.
32. What is the article in The New York Times mainly concerned with
A. Safety of overweight airplane passengers. B.The size of airplane seats and seat belts.
C. A medical problem caused by being overweight.
D. Airplane crashes involving commercial planes.
33.Robert Salzar would probably agree that
A.overweight passengers should buy two seats
B. the government should help produce safer planes
C.standards for airplane seat strength should be raised
D. passengers should know how to protect themselves
34.We can learn from the text that
A. only a small number of airplane accidents involve the overweight
B.those seats near the overweight may suffer too
C.there are few complaints about airplane seats
D.airplane seat makers have taken action now
35.What is the best title for the text
A.Why Do Passengers Feel Anxious about Flying
B. Will 42% of Americans Be OVERWEIGHT BY 2030
C.When Will the Overweight Enjoy Their Flight
D.Are Airplane Seats Safe Enough for the Overweight

第一节 应用文
【答案】Dear Headmaster,
We have been asked about our opinions on opening iPad classrooms. I am in favor of this plan for the following reasons. To begin with, everyone learns differently. Students can customize their iPad with materials that fit their level and learning style, and thus tailor it to different needs. Moreover, when connected to the Internet, students can interact with teachers and classmates about how they learn more conveniently.
For the sake of environmental protection, opening iPad classrooms is a good way to save trees that we have been cutting down for paper. Most importantly, I believe students will develop their interests in the subjects by enjoying a new way of learning.
I hope you would take my ideas into consideration and we look forward to attending an iPad class.
Yours,
Li Hua
