Lazy people will never gain anything in life. However, laziness can be defeated once a few changes have been made in your mind.
One way to fight laziness is to get enough sleep. Many people lack sleep constantly, since they stay up too late and get up too early to prepare for work. These people have little motivation once they arrive home. Laziness works hand in hand with a lack of motivation and a tendency to put off things. By adjusting your sleep schedule to provide a few more hours of meaningful rest, you can fight laziness throughout the day.
Another way to fight laziness is to change your mind from passive to active. Some people treat their lives as if they were pushed from task to task. Others take a more positive approach, viewing each task as a challenge they must overcome alone. Laziness appears when you no longer feel in charge of your own mind.
Some people fight laziness by removing the temptations that surround them. A television in the living room may provide entertainment, but watching too much TV often contributes to laziness. Create a reward system for yourself, just as parents do for a plete a few tasks and reward yourself with what you enjoy, such as a good dinner or a film.
Laziness can also be a lasting problem at home. Couples and children may all have different energy levels, but laziness can be spread if not dealt with immediately. To fight family laziness, set an example. Be the first to collect and wash dishes after a meal. Others in the home may eventually follow your example and perform their own task. It is difficult to practice laziness when you are surrounded by motivated people.
Finally, taking exercise regularly can help you fight laziness. Enough exercise and a balanced diet can help you to develop a healthy lifestyle, thus enabling you to have more energy and help lift your spirits.
24. Why do many people lack sleep constantly
A. They don’t have a balanced diet. B. They don’t have a sleep schedule.

26. How should people fight family laziness
A. Everyone should have a plan.
B. People should do much exercise.
C. Children should perform their own task.
D. People should set an example to do the housework first.
27. What’s the text mainly about
A. Laziness can be spread. B. Lazy people need enough sleep.
C. How to fight laziness. D. It’s hard to defeat laziness.

Patients in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease often struggle to remember recently learned information, meaning they forget things like important appointments or where they left their keys. But it seems that these memories are not lost. They are still filed away in the brain somewhere; they just can’t be easily accessed.
Now, researchers at MIT have developed a means of getting back memories in mice suffering from Alzheimer’s. The method relies on a technique that uses light to control genetically modified neurons(转基因神经元). “Currently it is too early to be used in human trials as it involves inserting light emitting(发光)equipment into the subjects’ brains, but the same principles still apply,” the researchers said.
“The important point is that this is evidence of the concept. That is, even if a memory seems to be gone, it is still there. It’s a matter of how to get it back,” said the senior researcher Susumu Tonegawa.
The team took two groups of mice, one genetically engineered to develop Alzheimer’s and one healthy. They then placed them into a room and gave them a mild electric shock. All of the mice showed fear when put back in an hour later. When placed in the room a third time several days later, the Alzheimer’s mice acted normally. They had forgotten the shock.
The researchers were then able to bring back the memory of the shock by activating the cells in which the memories were stored. Even when the mice were put into an unfamiliar room, they showed fear when the cells associated with the shock were activated.
“Short-term memories seem to be normal in order of hours. But for long-term memories, these early Alzheimer’s mice seem to be damaged,” said the lead researcher Dheeraj Roy. “Directly activating the cells that we believe are holding the memory helps them get it back. This suggests that it is indeed an accessible problem to the information, not that they are unable to learn or store this memory.”
28. What do the researchers use to control genetically modified neurons ( http: / / www. / )
A. Light. B. Machine. C. Electricity. D. Sound.
29. How do the Alzheimer’s mice act several days later after the electric shock

B. They can’t be activated by the researchers.
C. They can’t remember the electric shock and behave as usual.
D. They are afraid of the researchers and the electric shock.
30. What can we infer from the text
A. Mice can’t suffer from the Alzheimer’s disease.
B. Researchers can recover early memories in mice with Alzheimer’s.
C. Researchers have used the method in human beings.
D. The early Alzheimer’s mice can transform their own brain cells.
31. What does the author want to express in the text
A. To tell us that mice have no memory.
B. To inform us how to prevent the Alzheimer’s.
C. To introduce the new discovery about the Alzheimer’s.

Scientists found that emotions have different meanings across 2,474 spoken languages, but that there are universal sources of structure. The Somali word for fear is cabsi. In Tagalog, takot. In Icelandic, ótti. But do these translations communicate the same human experience Psychology researchers found that the way humans conceptualize(概念化)emotions like anger, fear, joy and sadness may differ across speakers of different languages.
To approach the topic, the researchers built and analyzed large networks of colexification using a global sample of languages. Colexification occurs when one word has more than one meaning in a language. More often than not, colexifications mean that speakers of a language see two concepts as similar. For example, Russian speakers use the word “ruka” to describe both the hand and arm. In this study, the researchers asked whether languages colexified emotions, and if so, which emotions were seen as similar and distinct.
The team found that languages describe emotions differently across the globe. For example, some languages view grief as similar to fear and anxiety, while others view grief as similar to regret. The team also found that the way cultures express emotions is tied to geography. Language groups located closer to one another share more similar views of emotions compared to far away language groups.
Regardless of geography, all languages distinguish emotions primarily based on whether they are pleasant or unpleasant to experience, and whether they involve low or high levels of arousal(兴奋). For example, few languages view the low-arousal emotions of sadness as similar to the high-arousal emotions of anger, and few languages viewed the pleasant emotions of “happy” as similar to the unpleasant emotions of “regret”. This suggests that there are universal elements of emotion experience that may originate from biological evolution.
“These large associative networks will not only help us study how humans make meaning of different concepts, they can also throw light on cultural differences in this meaning-making,” Lindquist, senior author, said. “Psychologists have long studied how humans understand their worlds, and future researchers will be able to apply our method to study the understanding of different kinds of concepts.”
32. Which of the following isn’t related to the human emotions ( http: / / www. / )
A. Cabsi. B. Takot.
C. Ruka. D. Otti.
33. When does colexification happen according to the text
