Two words rhyme with each other when they have the same ending sound, like “think, ” “pink”. The last word in each of the lines of a poem does not have to have a rhyming sound, but many of them do. Two lines of poetry that rhyme with each other at the end are called a rhyming couplet.
Writing rhyming poetry can be difficult because you need to choose words that not only rhyme but have meaning, too. Even though some poems are short, you have to think extra long about which words to choose. Here is an example of a short poem:
He was only a bug, but he was the king.
She smiled at him when he gave her a ring.
He forgot to be careful of one little thing.
His queen was a bee, and she could sting.

D. They must have different meanings.
( )45. Which of the following rhyme with each other in the short poem
A. Ring and thing. B. Bug and king.
C. Queen and king. D. Bee and sting.
( )46. Rhyming poetry is sometimes hard to write because you need to choose____.
A. rhyming words without meaning

If you would like to recite a poem for your friends, here is some advice for you.
Choose a poem that “speaks to you”. Be sure to get the one that you really like. The more you like the poem, the more fun you will have when learning and reciting it. Maybe it's a funny poem, a sad poem, or a love poem, but if it's a poem that “speaks to you”—a poem that makes you feel something, you are going to enjoy reciting it to your friends.
It's OK to yell(大声喊叫). When you recite a poem, you need to speak loudly enough for everyone in the room to hear you. Don't keep the poem in front of your face, or you'll make it much harder for people to hear you. Don't look down at your shoes. If you do so, your shoes can hear you really well, but other people might not.
To recite a poem well, it's important to know it well. Remember the poem you plan to recite. If you don't remember the poem, you may forget the words when reciting it, even if you have written it on a piece of paper in front of you. Remembering it well will help you recite the poem as well as possible.
( )47. If a poem “speaks to you” , you will________.
A. be too scared to recite it
B. have less fun when learning and reciting it
C. have special feelings about it
D. shout to your friends
( )48. According to the passage, when reciting a poem, you should________.
A. speak loudly enough
B. keep the poem in front of your face
C. look down at your shoes
D. never yell in the room
( )49. What is true about remembering a poem well according to the passage
A. You will forget some words when reciting it.
B. You will recite the poem well.
C. You need to write the poem on the paper.
D. It will help you write your own poems.
