a video of the cooking process. Besides, they’ll introduce the history of the food. The judge will

We’d appreciate it if you could accept our invitation. Looking forward to your reply.

第二节:
Possible version:
Eventually I reached the final mile. It was then that I felt extremely tired and sweat fell down
my face. Many runners in the race had fallen behind, but I refused to be one of them. Instead, I
chose to pump my legs a little faster and push myself a little harder. As the last half mile was near,
the number of people along the track increased. Around the next corner, I could see my coach waving
to me in great excitement. I tried to run faster.
Unfortunately, I suddenly fell down. I felt great pain and discouraged. Just at that moment, the
audience shouted, “Come on, girl!” “Watch out!” “Keep up!” Meanwhile, a runner behind me came
to me and gave me a lift. I was really grateful and encouraged. I stood up and ran for the final 400
meters. When I finally sailed over the finish line, I nearly cried with relief. I won the third place in
the race. My coach was proud of me and I felt great too.

W: You must have got very angry.
M: No. It was kind of fun.

M: Linda, what did you do last night
W: I went to a concert.
M: Sounds great. Was it a pop concert just like the ones you went to before
W: No. Actually, it’s a classical concert. My friend Mark invited me to it. He loves rock music very
much. But he booked two tickets for this classical concert by mistake.
M: Oh, classical music is my favorite, but not yours. It must have been a boring evening for you.
W: Not really. Before the concert began, I had thought I would fall asleep soon after. But it turned

M: It's a nice apartment. It has a large living room, one big bedroom and two small ones. It has no
dining room. But it doesn't matter to me.
W: What about its surroundings
M: Well, it sits in a very quiet place. There’s a park just about ten minutes’ walk away to the bus
stop. And the subway station is even farther.
W: So have you made a final decision
M: No. The rent is a bit high, costing 1,000 dollars a month.
W: Why not find two roommates
M: That’s what I’m considering. But I don’t like living with strangers. I’ll ask my friends about it.
W: Good idea.

M: Yes. I'm in the club for students who love poetry. We can learn about different kinds of poetry
there.

M: Yes, but I have no interest in it. I just want to write better. So are you in any clubs
W: Not yet. But I'm considering joining the painting club. It's a club where students can paint, share
their works and talk about painting skills. They can also share stories about their favorite artists
and their views on famous paintings if they like.
M: Great! Can I join the club I'm a new hand at painting.
W: Sure. Everyone interested in painting is welcome.

W: They meet on Fridays in the school painting room. Let's go!

W: Jason, have you visited the San Diego Zoo
M: Yes, I have. It was my birthday last Friday. My birthday present this year was a trip to the San
Diego Zoo. But since I had to go to school that day, we went to the zoo the following day instead.
W: So how is the zoo
M: It's really large.
W: Then it must have been a very tiring day for you.
M: Well, actually, we didn't walk much. We took a bus tour so we could see more animals in the
zoo. We mainly went to see a few of the unique exhibits.
W: What animals did you see there
M: We saw various animals, such as elephants, pandas, tigers and lions.
W: Wow! What left the deepest impression on you
M: The pandas. They were so cute.
W: Oh. I look forward to visiting the zoo.
M: It really deserves a visit. When will you go
W: My parents said that they will take me there if I make progress in the final exam next week.
M: Well, good luck.
Text 10
M: Good morning, everyone. I'm glad to be invited here to share my story. My name is Joseph
Brown. I’m a middle school history teacher and I have been teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area
for the past 5 years. I love volunteering with Berkeley Humane in summer and I have been doing
that for the past 3 years, working with cats. I started doing this volunteer work after I read some
news about homeless cats. I wanted to help them. But since I'm usually very busy with my work, I
can only volunteer during summer holidays. I usually go to the local animal shelter every Tuesday
and Thursday. There I clean the cats’ cages, feed them and tell their stories to people who want to
take one of them home as a pet. Altogether I have helped more than a hundred cats find new owners.
The volunteer work is really rewarding. Nothing is better for me than watching a cat go out of the
door with a happy new parent. And that’s why I love volunteering there. If you also want to help
homeless cats, come and volunteer with me.
