“with+宾语+宾语补足语”构成with复合结构，在句中作状语，可表示伴随、原因等。
宾语可以是名词或代词，宾语补足语可以是形容词、副词、介词、介词短语等。
该复合结构中的宾语与宾语补足语有逻辑上的主谓关系。

fallen和broken为过去分词，可作前置定语修饰名词。
口语与书面语在很多方面都不同。
Spoken English is different from written English in many ways.

when 与while区分：
“当......的时候”,如后面连接的动词为进行时态,则用while多于用when。而when通常与瞬间性动词或延续性不强的动词连用。
2) 如果while前后的动词都是进行时
态,while可译为“与此同时”。

3) 当while前后的句子描述的情况相对或
相反,while可译为“而”,while更强调并
列的对比而非转折。
eg. I am out-going while my sister is
quiet and shy.
总之,when表示做某种动作的时间或瞬
间,由其引导的时间状语的时态如果是
一般过去时,其主句通常要用过去进行时。while表示略长的一段时间,由其引
导的时间状语从句用过去进行时,而主
句时态根据实际情况而定。
