Teaching content Book 1 Unit 1 Understanding ideas-Language points
Analysis of teaching content This part presents some key words, phrases and sentences and their usages. It aims to solve Ss’ problems in reading the passage of unit 1. Exercises guide students to understand the usages better.
Teaching objectives By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: ●Knowledge objectives: 1. Master the usage of key words and phrases. 2. Analyse the language points of important sentences. 3. Learn to describe their experiences and feelings of the first day at senior high better. ●Ability objectives: 1. Apply what they’ve learned into practice. 2.Learn the way of grammatical blank filling. ●Emotional objective: Stimulate Ss in learning English and develop their spirit of cooperation and teamwork..
Teaching important and difficult points Important point Help Ss to use these language points properly. Difficult points 1. To help students master the useful words, phrases and sentences patterns. 2. To guide Ss to grasp the correct usages of language points.
Teaching methods In this lesson, explanation and cooperation-study method are adopted in order to help Ss’ master the usages.

Step 1 Revision (5 min) Guide Ss retell the reading passage according to some clue words. Write down some important expressions if they are wrong. To review what they’ve learned last class, and lead to the topic of this class.
Step 2 Presentation (25 min) Divide Ss into several groups, and arrange tasks for them. Have a discussion with their partners and right down their on the blackboard. Check their answers.
