A
(2021·黑龙江哈尔滨三中高三期末)For years, the U.S. has experienced a shortage of registered nurses. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that while the number of nurses will increase by 19 percent by 2022, demand will grow faster than supply, and that there will be over one million unfilled nursing jobs by then.
So what's the solution Robots.
Japan is ahead of the curve when it comes to this trend. Toyohashi University of Technology has developed Terapio, a robotic medical cart that can make hospital rounds, deliver medications and other items. It follows a specific individual, such as a doctor or nurse, who can use it to record and access patient data. This type of robot will likely to be one of the first to be implemented in hospitals because it has fairly minimal patient contact.
A robot's appearance affects its ability to successfully interact with humans, which is why the RIKEN TRI Collaboration Center for Human Interactive Robot Research decided to develop a robotic nurse called Actroid F. It is so human like that some patients may not know the difference. This conversational robot companion has cameras in its eyes, which allow it to track patients and use appropriate facial expressions and body language in its interactions. During a month long hospital trial, researchers asked 70 patients how they felt being around the robot and “only three or four said they didn't like having it around”.
It's important to note that robotic nurses don't decide courses of treatment or make diagnoses. Instead, they perform routine and laborious tasks, freeing nurses up to attend to patients with immediate needs. This is one industry where it seems the interaction of robots will lead to collaboration, not replacement.
1.What does the author say about Japan
A.It ranks top in future robotics technology.
B.It takes the lead in offering robotic nursing.
C.It is in desperate need of registered nurses.
D.It provides the best medication for the elderly.

Toyohashi University of Technology has developed Terapio, a robotic medical cart that can make hospital rounds, deliver medications and other items.”
2.Which of the following best explains“implemented” underlined in paragraph 3
A.Cancelled. B.Constructed.
C.Improved. D.Applied.
根据第三段中的“It follows a specific individual, such as a doctor or nurse, who can use it to record and access patient data. This type of robot will likely to be one of the first to be implemented in hospitals because it has fairly minimal patient contact.”
3.What do we know about the robot Actroid F
A.It has no difference from a human nurse.
B.It gets favorable remarks from all the patients.
C.It interacts with patients like a human companion.
D.It uses body language even more effectively than words.

4.What is the author's attitude towards robotic nurses
A.Skeptical. B.Positive.
C.Critical. D.Indifferent.

(2021·深圳二模)That morning, I dropped our eldest at kindergarten and returned home to let our two younger children play while I worked on my medical report. It was wonderful, but it hit me that my career in hospital wasn't making a difference in anyone's life. I needed something that would stretch my limits and push me to grow. My career enabled me to work from home. I could work from home, and become a foster (领养) mother, providing safety for a child who needed it desperately.
On Monday morning, I picked up the phone and dialed the number I had googled for the nearest Department of Children' Services. The man on the other end was receptive to my questions and explained the next step of training, involving eight weeks of classes designed to prepare and educate foster parents. We continued through all the classes, the home visits, background checks, and seemingly endless steps.
Five long months after we were approved, the phone rang. In the middle of the night, I woke my husband and rushed to East Tennessee Children's Hospital. Our placement was waiting for us in the emergency room, sick and lack of nutrition. It didn't take long for us to realize the full depth of her suffering. Six months later, her half brother came to us by our request. We now had five children under our care.
On August 12, 2016, our family of seven walked into a small courtroom. The children's lawyer and social worker were there. With just a few words, our adoption was finalized. These two amazing children weren't going home, because they were already home. We are their forever family and they are our forever children. We may not be able to change the entire world, but we have changed the world entirely for our new children.

故填the。

When Anne Glancey, a retired school teacher, received notice from the official of Hamilton Township that she would be fined up to $3,000 per day for code violations (违反) and repairs that needed to be made to her home, she didn't know what to do. She did not have the money to pay for the repairs, and she had no family or friends she could ask for help.
The only contact she regularly made with others was with her neighbors of five years, Adam and Kristin Polhemus. Anne showed the letter to them which explained that she needed to repaint her house, remove the abandoned and rusty car in her yard, and mow the lawns. These were three violations in total, each with a fine of $1,000 per day. Anne had grown up in the house, and the letter made her upset. She didn't know what she was going to do and she couldn't do these herself. “Anne, we'll help you,” Adam said.
Kristin posted a call for volunteers to help make repairs and paint Anne's house on social media. Her post read as follows:
My friends in Hamilton Township! Are you free for a few hours this weekend We need you! Adam and I want to use your help for some painting at the home of our elderly neighbor, Anne. She received a piece of notice of a heavy fine and she's on a deadline to repair and repaint her home to avoid the fine. She's limited in funds and the physical ability to do the work. So we really do need your help; we only have a few people right now and we're hoping for about 20 volunteers to make this happen. THANK YOU!

One possible version:
Anne, Adam and Kristin were overjoyed at the response. More than 25 kind people showed up over several weekends to volunteer to help and donate supplies. The volunteers brought their own supplies and tools, repainted the house and donated the old and rusty unused car to the charity organization. All work was done for free. During the break, Anne made and served homemade orange juice and carrot cakes to the volunteers.
Anne decided to do something in return. She spent a whole week preparing a gathering to express thanks to those who offered her the kind help. Then she invited them to come. That day, it was amazing that nearly all the volunteers came. They talked happily like family members. Before the party ended, Anne presented each person with a love card and they took a photo together. Anne posted the photo including these words: When we come together to love and help each other, we can make a beautiful difference.

5.How did the author feel about her hospital work
A.Unusually demanding.
B.Lacking in motivation.
C.Filled with challenges.
D.Packed with chances.

A.She wanted to make a difference in other people.
B.She felt sympathetic for abused children she knew.

A.The child to be adopted.
B.The need to get trained.
C.The approval of adoption.
D.The official at the hospital.
8.Why did the author appear at the courtroom

THANK YOU!
Anne, Adam and Kristin were overjoyed at the response.
