I was never very neat, while my roommate Kate was extremely organized. Each of her objects had its place, but mine always hid somewhere. She even labeled (贴标签) everything. I always looked for everything. Over time, Kate got neater and I got messier. She would push my dirty clothing over, and I would lay my books on her tidy desk. We both got tired of each other.
War broke out one evening. Kate came into the room. Soon, I heard her screaming, “Take your shoes away! Why under my bed!” Deafened, I saw my shoes flying at me. I jumped to my feet and started yelling. She yelled back louder.
The room was filled with anger. We could not have stayed together for a single minute but for a phone call. Kate answered it. From her end of the conversation, I could tell right away her grandma was seriously ill. When she hung up, she quickly crawled under her covers, sobbing(哭泣). Obviously, that was something she should not go through phone. All of a sudden, a warm feeling of sympathy rose up in my heart.
Slowly, I collected the pencils, took back the books, made my bed, cleaned the socks and swept the floor, even on her side. I got so into my work that I even didn't notice Kate had sat up. She was watching, her tears dried and her expression one of disbelief. Then, she reached out her hands to grasp mine. She smiled at me, “Thanks.”
Kate and I stayed roommates for the rest of the year. We didn't always agree, but we learned the key to living together: giving in, cleaning up and holding on.

I'm often asked how to study English effectively. I think this means getting the most out of your study time, and that means variety 16.
Study Every Day
It's important to study English every day. However, don’t exaggerate! Study for thirty minutes every day instead of two hours once a week. 17.
A Little Grammar, a Little Listening, a Little Reading, and a Little Writing
18. Study a little grammar, then do a short listening exercise, and then perhaps read an article on the same topic. Don't do too much; twenty minutes on three different types of exercises is plenty!
19.
Give yourself one grammar-goal when reading a new article or watching a new video. For example, try to write down each example of a form you are studying such as the present perfect. Use colored pens to highlight forms that you are studying.
Use Different Learning Methods
Don't just use one way to study English. Use many kinds of methods which will make all the parts of your brain help you. 20. All of these methods together help to reinforce your learning.
Find Some Friends
You can practice the exercises together, have conversations together(in English), and, as you study English together, help each other with exercises you may not understand.
A.Forget Grammar
B.Review Grammar as You Watch or Read
C.Here are some simple exercises to help you warm up
D.Here are some basic ideas to help you as you study English
E.This habit of studying English every day will help keep English in your brain fresh

Dear Leo,
I am so delighted to hear that you are coming to study in China, writing in response to your inquiries concerning how to learn Chinese.
To begin with, it is crucial to read massively so that words and sentences can be accumulated. Actively engaging in conversations with native Chinese speakers also helps a lot in your language intuition. Additionally, why not set aside some time to watch stage plays in the local theatre where you are certain to gain a deeper insight into Chinese culture.
Hope you find my suggestions practical and please contact me if you have further questions.
