【知识要点】
◆一般过去式
一. 用法
（1）过去某个时间所发生的动作或存在的状态。
I bought a new shirt yesterday. 昨天我买了一件新衬衫。
He was a worker two years ago. 两年前，他是一个工人。
（2）过去一段时间内，经常性或习惯性的动作。
When I was a child, I often played with me. 小时候，我经常玩火。
Li Lei always walked to school last term.少学期李磊总是步行上学。
（3）谈到已故人的情况时多用过去时。
Lu Xun was a great writer. 鲁迅是个伟大的作家。
（4）有些发生时间不是很清楚的情况，根据上下文判断是过去发生的，也应用过去时态。
----It must be on Channel 2. Try that. 肯定是在第二频道，试试看。
----I tried that. But I still can’t get anything. 我试了。但我还是什么也没看到。
二. 时间状语
Yesterday, the day before yesterday, last month, last year, last term, a moment ago, two hours ago, five minutes ago, in 1998, in the spring of 2000等。
三.结构
一般过去式表示过去发生的动作或存在的状态。其谓语部分用动词的过去式来表示，没有人称和数的变化。但be动词的过去式有单数was和复数were之分。
如：He did his homework last night. 他昨晚做作业了。
I was born in 1995. 我出生于1995年。
构成：①．主语 + be动词（ was / were） + …
否定句： 主语 + wasn’t / weren’t + …
一般问句：Was / Were + 主语 + …
例：Tom was born in 1995.
否定句： Tom wasn’t born in 1995.
一般问句： Was Tom born in 1995 简答：Yes, he was. No, he wasn’t.
特殊问句： When was Tom born
②. 主语 + 行为动词的过去式 + … eg. He worked hard in the past.
一般过去时中的助动词是did。因此，在构成否定、疑问及简单回答时，都需要助动词did。
否定句： 主语 + 助动词didn’t + 动词原形 + …
一般问句：助动词Did + 主语 + 动词原形 + …
1). Kate walked to school yesterday.
否定句： Kate didn’t walk to school yesterday.
一般问句: Did Kate walk to school yesterday
简答： Yes, she did. No, she didn’t.
特殊问句： When did Kate walk to school
2). They played basketball yesterday afternoon.
否定句： They didn’t play basketball yesterday afternoon.
一般问句: Did they play basketball yesterday afternoon
简答： Yes, they did. No, they didn’t.
特殊问句： What did they do yesterday afternoon
四．规则动词的过去式的变化规则:
情 况（或 形 式） 变 化 规 则 例 词
绝大多数的规则动词 加-ed walk------ walked
以字母e结尾的规则动词 直接加-ed arrive------arrived
以辅音字母加y结尾的规则动词 改y为i再加-ed cry------cried hurry------ hurried
以“一个元音字母+一个辅音字母(w和y除外)的重读闭音节”结尾的规则动词 双写该辅音字母再加-ed stop------ stopped prefer------preferred plan------ planned
词尾–ed / -d 的读音规则(口诀):
清 [t] 浊 [d], 元音后面也发[d], [t] [d]后面发[id]:
talked [t] planned [d] played [d] wanted [id] needed [id]
