表示感觉和知觉的系动词
有的动词后面要接名词或代词等作宾语,有的可以单独作谓语,有的则要接形容词或名词等作主语的补充成分。我们把后面接主语补充成分的动词称为系动词。
最常用的系动词是be,除此之外还有很多感官动词,如:look, taste, feel, smell, sound等,也可以当系动词使用。如:
The cookies taste sweet.
The milk smells sour.
上面的系动词feel, taste, look, smell, sound相当于汉语中的“摸起来” “尝起来” “看上去” “闻起来” 和“听起来”的概念。要注意这类系动词与系动词be不同,其否定形式和疑问形式的构成要借助助动词do。如:
The cake doesn’t taste very sweet.
