一、Pre-writing

教师活动:阅读Part A,完成下面的问题。
(1) What are the three main reasons why people hunt animals
We hunt animals for food, for fashion and for fun.
(2) How do human activities indirectly have an effect on animals
We destroy their habitats when we build farms or factories. Air, water, noise and light pollution can have an impact on animals.
教师活动:引导学生看视频,完成B1的问题。
(1) What happened to several whale species in the last century
They were hunted near to extinction.
(2) What can protected areas ensure
They can ensure water and food supplies are safe.
(3) What causes the loss of animal habitats in the Amazon rainforest
People cutting down trees.
(4) What will we be better able to do if we learn more about how human activities harm the environment
We will be better able to change our behaviour.
学生活动:再次看视频,完成B2。

教师活动:如何写呼吁信
1.文体解读
呼吁信属于应用文的范畴。呼吁信是作者就某一个问题或一些现象,表达自己的关心,发表自己的一些看法,并提出可行的解决办法。
2.写作要点
呼吁信可以是写给个人,也可以写给报社或者某个集体或者组织,与一般信件的格式相同。写作时,要明确写信的目的,语气要中肯,文章结构要紧凑,句子要通顺。
3.基本结构
开头:简单阐述某个问题或一些现象。
主体:分析问题或现象出现的原因,并提出自己的建议。注意语气一定要委婉。
结尾:呼吁大家提高某方面的意识或对某个问题的关注,并表达美好的憧憬。
4.常用句式:
①I just can't tell you how sad I was when I knew/heard/saw that...
②It was a great shock to hear that...
③I am writing to express my deep sympathy/care for you.
④With the development of society, people now desire more.
⑤With no food to eat and no place to live, many animals are dying out.
⑥It's high time that we paid much attention to protecting our environment.
⑦Only in this way can we live in harmony with the animals.
⑧It's true that attitude decides everything. So you should never give up no matter what happens.
