The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people and is when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West. All people live away from work and go back home .
The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month.
This day's important activity is watching lanterns. Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are hung in the streets, attracting countless visitors. “Guessing lantern riddles” is an essential part of the Festival.
The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi and racing dragon boats. The festival is best known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes. This Regatta (赛舟会) is given honour to the memory of the death of Qu Yuan.
The Mid-autumn day is on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, usually in September. On that day people often eat mooncakes at night. A mooncake is a delicious cake. it looks like the moon. people like to eat moon cakes. There are many kinds of cakes.Small round cake, with meat, eggs, nuts or sweet things, very tasty. At this time every year, many stores are selling moon cakes.
