【精讲点拨】
一、so that和so...that辨析
“ so + 形容词/ 副词 + that 从句” 意为 “如此……以至于……”,引导结果状语从句。
如：The story is so funny that we all like it. 那个故事如此有趣，我们都很喜欢。
so that 意为“以便”，引导目的状语从句。
如：He gets up early every day so that he can catch up the early bus.
二、 used to do和be used to doing辨析。
used to后跟动词原形，意为“过去常做某事”；be used to后跟动名词，为固定搭配，意为“习惯于做某事”。例如：
He used to be quiet. But now he is outgoing. 他以前很内向，但是现在很外向。
As a mountain climber, Aron is used to taking risks. 作为登山者，阿伦习惯于冒险。
三、“死亡”的不同形式
与“死亡”有关的英语单词形式有：
die为动词原形，其现在分词为dying，过去式为died，属于非延续性动词，不能与时间段连用；dead为形容词形式；death为名词形式。如：
His father died three years ago. 他爸爸三年前去世了。
The man hurt badly. He is dying. 这个男的伤得很厉害，正奄奄一息。
His father was dead when he was young. 他小的时候，爸爸就去世了。
His father’s death made him very sad. 他爸爸的去世使他很伤感。
