The best way to reach Park Guell from the city centre is to take Bus 24 from Placa Catalunya. Some areas of the park are free, while the best pats require you to buy a ticket.

Dave Mader has been racing for 50 years, and while he always wants to win a trophy, a second-place finish on a national stage had the 65-year-old feeling pretty good.
Mader finished behind Corey Heim, who at 18 years old was born well after Mader’s only victory in the series in a 1991 race at Michigan. Mader competed in 10 Cup events from 1988 to 1992 and still races short tracks throughout the Southeast. He finished 27th in the February at Daytona after a mechanical issue ended his day.
Mader said, “this is huge. I’m 65 years old. This is for all the old people. Isn’t that great I want to cry. It’s so exciting I’ve been doing this for 50 years. To still be able to do it on any capacity is great.”Mander said he got into another car early in the race but had a fairly smooth day.
“I guess they’re going to go, ‘the old man ran into somebody,’” he said with a laugh. “it’s tough out there running 190 and being that close. Things happen.”Heim said he has never met Mader, but he seemed to enjoy hearing the history of Mader’s accomplishments.“it’s pretty unreal to see people like that up front. He was a very smart, clean racer,” Heim said.
Mader has no plans of slowing down.
He said, “I’ve been doing it all my life. It’s what I’ve always done. I do it for fun. I love the trophy. It’s not about ego or anything like that. I just enjoy it. I’ve been pretty good at it for a long time, and as long as I feel good and be fair, I want to continue doing it. ”

Parents have a new tool in the battle over screen time, with an Australian app asking kids to solve one math or English problem before they can unlock their phones.
Sydney entrepreneurs Issac and Ann Elnekave turned their bright idea into an app called 1Question and tried it on their 16-year-old daughter Alyssa.
“At first I wasn’t sure about it,” Alyssa said. “I didn’t want my friends to blame me if their parents made them get it. But once I started using it, I realized it doesn’t take that long to answer a question and it’s actually pretty cool.”
Research has shown almost half of children aged between 6 and 16 either have a mobile phone or have access to one. The majority play games or use apps like YouTube for an average of about five hours a day. “ The 1Question app creates micro learning moments.” Mrs. Elnekave said. “We created a solution that blends screen time and study.”
Parents can download the $ 2.99 a month app onto their child’s phone, select their grade and curriculum subjects, then monitor each time their child correctly answers a question to open a game or app such as YouTube.
“We designed the user experience to be really simple, but underneath the hood is our incredibly intelligent AI engine,” Mr. Elnekave said. “As your child learns, so does the AI, which works out each child’s areas of strength and weakness and creates a customized path for their learning”
The app has a base of 12,000 questions developed by teachers using the Australian, British and American curriculum designed for primary school children.
What do we know about the 1Question app
A.It is free of charge.
B.It contains questions suitable for high school students.
C.Children need to answer more than one question correctly to unlock their phones.
D.It serves to help children learn something useful during their screen time.
What did Alyssa think about this App
A.She didn’t like it because she was afraid that her classmates would blame her.
B.She liked it because it was interesting.
C.She thought it actually pretty good.
D.She thought it was terrible to take too long to answer a question.
What does paragraph4 mainly talk about
A.The popularity of mobile phones.
B.The influence of phone games on children.
C.The function and significance of the 1Question app.
D.The way to install the 1Question app.
What is the purpose of the writer
A.To introduce a useful app. B.To blame parents shouldn’t allow children to use phones.
C.To call on parents to buy this app. D.To show this app is powerful.
D
Any mention of cockroaches(蟑螂) in the same breath as food will cause a reaction of disgust among most people, but not form Li Yanrong.
The 53-year-old entrepreneur from Shandong raises cockroaches to consume kitchen waste. At Li’s company in Jinan, 1 billion cockroaches chew through at least 50 metric tons of food waste a day.
“Using cockroaches to deal with kitchen waste is good for our country as some social problems are created by food waste, ” Li said.
This is just one example of innovative methods to cope with food waste, which has become a pressing problem all over the world. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, an estimated 1.3 billion tons of food, or one-third of the total produced for human consumption, is wasted globally each year.
Hearing this, Bai Yinzhong, 70, who experienced a period of severe food shortages in the early 1960s feels a sense of pain. “I would have starved to death if no one had helped me out, ” said Bai.
While large amounts of food are being thrown away, 820 million people are still living in hunger around the world. Many children go to sleep hungry and 3.1 million of them die from hunger and poor nutrition each year, according to the United Nations.
Noticing this severe problem, China has spared no effort in dealing with food waste in recent years. Chinese leaders repeatedly called for thrift to be practised and for waste to be opposed. In 2013, the “Clear Your Plate” initiative was launched in the country.
Efforts to end food waste and promote thrift are also being made by catering companies and restaurants in which different-sized portions are provided to diners.
Zhang Ziwei from Lanzhou said, “In the past, I had to ask the chef to give me a smaller helping, as the portion was usually too large. Now, I can order a small portion, which reduces waste and is cheaper.”
Even though we have made some changes, “it doesn’t mean we should adopt a careless attitude to food security. China has limited cultivable farmland, power and water resources. Food waste should not be allowed at any time,” said a researcher from the Agricultural Information Institute at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
What does Li Yangrong raise cockroaches for
A.To raise money for those suffering from hunger. B.To provide cockroaches for the market as pets.
C.To solve the rubbish problems. D.To use cockroaches as food sources.
What is Bai Yinzhong’s attitude to the Li Yanrong’s business
A.Supportive. B. Regretful. C. Proud. D. Envious.
Which of the following is NOT the effort done by Chinese to save food
A.Chinese leaders advocated thrift to be practised and for waste to be opposed.
B.In 2013, the “Clear Your Plate” initiative was launched in China.
C.Zhang Ziwei asked chef to make cheaper food.
D.Catering companies and restaurants provided different-sized portions for diners.
What can we infer from the last paragraph
A.Xu Shiwei is confident in Chinese food security. B.Food waste has been solved in China.

An unforgettable trip
Our school organized a four-day activity to Yuquan Farm last week and we enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot.
At around 7 am, we arrived at the farm on the school bus. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the kind farm owner. We were divided into several groups, and then picked hops which is a kind of plants to make beer. Moreover, not only were we competing with other groups to win the first place, but also we helped each other to finish our duty on time. At the end of the activity, sun-burnt as we were, we learned a lot from this meaningful activity.
This outdoor activity was really beneficial to us. Not only did it get us closer to nature, but also taught us the value of hard work.
