I am not ready to write everything about the accident, but the lesson I learned can help other people. Driving carelessly is dangerous. One day, I was driving on the road. A car across from me seemed to be turning right, but the driver changed his mind and kept going. I didn't notice that, because I was trying to get my phone. Then I heard a big noise. The accident happened.
Some people saw the accident and came to ask me something, but I was in panic and couldn't think of anything. I wanted to call someone for help. However, I couldn't find my phone and I didn't remember anyone's phone number. Finally, the police found my bag in the car and my iPad was in it. They sent a message to my family.
From the accident, I hope people can learn that: Be careful when driving. It's dangerous to use phones when driving. Don't drive in a hurry. It's necessary to keep your family's phone numbers in mind. With a phone today, almost nobody tries to remember phone numbers anymore. But sometimes, your mind works better than your phone.

A.Calling someone. B.Sending a message.
C.Looking for his phone. D.Watching cars around him.

8. What did NOT the writer learn from the accident

C.Never put your phone in the car.
D.Remember phone numbers by heart.
9. Which of the following is the RIGHT order

②The writer's family knew the accident.

④Some people came to help the writer.
A.①②③④ B.③①④② C.②④①③ D.①④③②

C.Don't be quick when driving
D.Learn a lesson from a car accident
三、阅读理解-阅读选择(共3小题;共24分)
When I was about 15, I had a chance to take part in a play. How excited I was! So were my parents.
A few days before the show, some of my friends decided to have a picnic at a nearby lake. It was still rather cold. Mother wanted me to stay home so that I might not catch a cold, but I really wanted to go there. After my making promise not to go swimming, she nodded.
But when the others went into the water, I couldn't stand being left behind. I put on my swimsuit, too, and went out in a boat. When at last I went back to shore (岸), some of the boys began to shake my boat for fun. Just as I was about to reach the shore, it went over. Trying to stay out of the water, I jumped to the shore. I made it—but I landed on a broken bottle. It broke my left leg.
I didn't take part in the play, but had to lie in hospital. "But I kept my promise not to go swimming," I said to Dad. "Mary, you got only half of what your mother said. What she really made you promise was to try not to catch a cold. Going swimming was only part of it. You let yourself hear only part of the truth."
I made a final excuse, "All my friends thought it would be all right if I stayed in the boat."
"And they were all wrong, weren't they " he said. "You'll find the world is full of people who think they know better than you. Don't shut your ears to them. Hear them out, but listen only for the truth and do what you know is the right thing to do."
It was a painful lesson. But Dad's advice has returned to me at many important moments in my life. Since that day I've never had a better piece of advice.

One day a professor entered the classroom and told the students about a surprising test. He gave the test papers to all the students and said: "Begin." The students were confused to see that there was not a question but just a black dot (点) in the center of the page. The professor noticed the students' face expression and told them, "I want you to write about what you see there."
The students were still confused but got started with the test. At the end of the class, the professor took all the answer sheets and started reading each answer from each sheet in front of the students. All of them described about the black dot and tried to explain its position etc. After the professor finished reading, the whole class was silent.
Professor began to explain, "Don't worry. I am not going to give you grades for this but I just want you to think about something. Here everyone focused on the black dot and wrote about it but no one wrote about the white paper. The same is with our life. The white paper represents our whole life and the black dot represents problems in our life."
"Our lives are a gift given to us by God, with love and care, and we always have reasons to celebrate—our friends around us, the job that provides us our livelihood, the miracles we see every day."

Here are some tips that can help you have a few moments of quiet in your day:
1. Make it a priority (优先的事物). Like brushing your teeth or taking a shower,10 minutes of quiet time a day is part of taking care of your body and cultivating (陶冶) your spirit.
2. Teach the people you live with about quiet time. No television or computer or music. This is the time to read or play or create art alone Tell the people around you about the importance of quiet and lead by example. Then they'll begin to support you and enjoy it as well.
3.Use the spaces in between. I seldom have the radio on in the car when I'm driving alone. When I'm waiting for an appointment (约会), I'm seldom texting or talking just enjoy the quiet before the appointment.
4. Create at least one daily activity that needs quiet. Go for a run without earphones. Take a long bath, or a shower before bed. My morning coffee is a time of enjoying quiet. When I know I've got a very busy day ahead, I'll get up 15 minutes early just to drink coffee alone in the quiet.
