(一)教材和学情
我讲课的内容是人教版第二册 Unit 5 Music Period 1 Warming up& Reading。本单元围绕着学生很感兴趣的音乐话题,结合阅读美国乐队the Monkees的建立和发展,帮助学生用英语谈论音乐并分析乐队成功的原因。我的教学对象是高一学生,其对国内外音乐有一定的了解和欣赏力,但对国外的乐队尤其是本文设计的门基乐队不太熟悉。但其独特的风格和发展经历能让学生对成功之路有进一步反思。
(二)教学目标和重难点
教学目标
1. Learn to classify and appreciate different kinds of music and read the passage The Band That Wasn’t to know something about being a band.
2. Develop students’ reading ability,such as getting the main idea of each paragraph, finding the key words and important information to finish the file of a band.
3. By thinking about what makes the Monkees successful and comparing the performances of two young bands to conclude some important elements to be a successful band.
教学重点:Help the students comprehend the passage and finish the resume of the band the Monkees and conclude their reasons for success.
教学难点:Analyze and organize the information to make it systematic.
(三)教学过程
话题导入:
首先,通过提问学生Do you like music Who is your favorite musician Why do you like him/ her 进行热身,从而引出神秘嘉宾周杰伦,由周杰伦之口(配音)提出本课的三个目标,即Appreciate different kinds of music; Get to know something about being a band; Be the judge of a music show.
任务一Appreciate different kinds of music:
呈现六幅图片,分别代表六中熟悉的音乐形式,即古典音乐、说唱乐、爵士乐、乡村音乐、民族音乐、摇滚音乐。学生通过图片中表演形式、乐器搭配、代表人物识别出音乐类型。然后播放五段音乐节选片段,让学生欣赏并进行音乐分类。通过最后一段摇滚音乐片段引出乐队话题Most rock music is created by a band,衔接到任务二。
任务二Get to know something about being a band:
先分析标题并将其补充完整,the band that wasn’t a band,不是乐队的乐队,引起学生对文章的兴趣。接着进行阅读基础任务,通过连线归纳段落大意,并将文章划分为三部分。
在细节阅读时,第一部分启发学生In the author’s opinion, what is the dream of most people 从而找出主旨句To be honest, a lot of people attach importance to becoming rich and famous. 理解attach importance to 的意思为think sth important.
第二部分通过完成表格了解大多数乐队成团的原因和过程,随着舞台变大,乐队也逐渐成名和富有,实现了大多数人奋斗的梦想。
第三部分的阅读任务更难一些。学生需自主完成门基乐队的简历,从成员、风格、成团原因到经历和成就。此任务需要学生具备分析、概括和整理能力,尤其是对其风格和成就的概括对学生挑战较大。
完成表格后,提问学生作者为何使用标题The Band That Wasn’t,引导学生反思乐队从模仿到原创的变化,从而思考What makes them successful 学生的答案是开放的,可以从他们的独特风格,态度变积极,成员团结和谐等方面去考虑。
任务三Be the judge of a music show
欣赏两只风格不同的乐队的表演,让学生去评判其音乐的感染力和表演完成度,哪个更成功?学生可以运用一些形容词来表达对其表演的感受,并且从两支乐队演唱和乐器演奏熟练度对其努力程度做出判断,从而借周杰伦之口(配音)总结出想成为一只成功的乐队,态度努力和运气缺一不可。
(四)作业布置
Listen to different kinds of music and think about if you could start a band, what type of music you would play and why. Write a short article to share your idea.
