Analysis of the materials:
This lesson is the forth period of unit four talking about animals at the farm.We have learn some expressions about vegetables and talk about the topic in part A.It’s a talking lesson to introduce the expressions:-What are those -They’re….to ask about what the things are. -Are those… --Yes,they are./ No,they aren’t.to let others give your correct answers when you’re not sure. We will learn this period by talking and doing some interesting games.
Analysis of the students:
The students from Grade 4 have more than one-year-old English learning experience.And we have got the basic knowledge of the sentences in the first part. So it’s not difficult to grasp them in a short time, They should listen, read and practice more.
Teaching aims:
Knowledge aims:
After learning the part,we’ll enable the students to grasp the key sentences:-What are those -They’re….and -Are those… -Yes,they are./ No,they aren’t. and use them correctly.
We also want the students to fully understand the dialogue,read it correctly and talk freely like it.
Ability aim:
Be able to improve students’ abilities of English learning, reading and free talking.
Moral aim:
To encourage students to know more about farm and love our lives.
Key and difficult points:
Key points: the dialogue and the key sentences.
Difficult points:
The difference between “these”and “those”.
The correct usage of asking and answering about things with their plural forms.

Ⅰ.Greetings and warming up
Greet the whole class warmly and have a free talk about time to lead the class.
-What time is it (It’s time for English class.)
Warming up: First, let’s sing.Mary has a little lamb.
Then, let’s chant
II. Presentation
Presentation of words and sentences:
a.First,show the picture of a farm with many vegetables.Old MacDonald has a big farm,we are at the farm, there are many vegetables.
-What are these
-They are potatoes./tomatoes./carrots. /green beans./onions.
There are a lot of animals at the farm too.(pay attention to “a lot of”)
It means many.In the classroom,we have a lot of chairs,a lot of desks and a lot of lights.
Say hello to Old MacDonald,wow!You have a lot of animals!
b.Next,show the picture of a horse,let’s learn the new word:horse. or / :/ .horses /z/ .and hen with its plural form.ask and answer with “What’ these ”
c.Then teacher will show a group of pictures that shows Mike and Sarah are talking about animals,some animals are here and some are over there. Present the new sentence:--What are those and “–What are these ” Try to make the students distinguish “these”and“those”.
d.Look at the pictures and use the new learn sentences to express them and introduce yes or no question with Are they…?.
Presentation of the dialogue:
First,listen carefully and then let’s read it correctly.
Then,invite volunteers to show their reading,next let’s read it different
ways.
Ⅲ. Practice
Let’s talk:
Teacher shows a picture of her farm,invite students to talk freely.
Let’s act:
Imagine we are at the farm,one student is the farmer,another two kids are visiting the farm.After acting,let’s find out the best actor or actress.
3. Let’s play:
First,teacher will act an animal and students guess, lead students to use:Is it a …?
Then invite a student to follow me, others ask:Are they…
Next,let’s look at the picture, invite students to act like the animal and talk with the sentence pattern.
Ⅳ.Consolidation and extension:
1. Make a brief summary of today’s learning contents and emphasize the key and difficult points.
2. To encourage students to know more about farm,love animals and our lives..
