三、Teaching steps
Step1: Review:
Ask the students:
1. What causes the sandstorms and what is its harm
2. What are the trees’ functions
Step2: Presentation
1. Talk about the sandstorms and its harm
2. Show the picture in 1a and lead the Ss to the new lesson.
3. Learn some new words: rubbish none user spit, write them down on the blackboard and read them aloud.
4. Listen to the tape of 1a, finish 1b, then check the answers.
5. Let the students read 1a carefully and underline the difficult points. Then lead the Ss to discuss them in groups.
Step3: Consolidation
1. Let the Ss read 1a freely, translate them one by one in groups.
2. Finish 1c by themselves .
3. Check the answers in groups
Step4: Practice
Let the Ss read 1a again ,act out the dialog in groups, then choose two groups to come to the front and act it out.
