Read the passage, try to find the four Ds:

1. Whatever you’re doing when you want to smoke – do something else!

Whatever 此处引导让步状语从句, 还可引导名词性从句。

= No matter what happens, you mustn’t lose heart.

whatever (wherever, whenever, however, whichever, whomever, whoever)
= no matter + what (where, when, how, which, whom, who)
Whatever, whichever, whoever, whomever还可以引导名词性从句,此时不能转化为no matter what (which, who, whom)。

e.g. The film distracted me from these problems for a while. 这部影片分散了我的注意力,让我暂时忘记了这些难题。
Once she gets involved in a research, nothing can distract her mind from it. 她一旦潜心钻研某一课题, 任何事情都无法使她分心。
5. Breath in slowly and deeply, then breath out.
