I used to have a desktop computer, but now I have a tablet. 我过去有一台台式电脑，但现在我有一个平板电脑。
used to do意为“曾经是；过去常常”，表示过去存在的状态或过去经常做某事而现在不做了，只用于一般过去时。used没有人称和数的变化。如：
He used to live in Beijing. 他过去住在北京。
Language points
（1）used to + n. / doing sth. 意为“习惯于……做某事”，注意这里的to是介词，后面接动名词。如：
He is used to traveling by train. 他习惯坐火车旅行。
（2）be used to do sth. 意为“被用来做某事”，这个结构表示被动。如：
This knife is used to cut bread. 这把刀子是用来切面包的。
