序数词是数词的一种，在汉语中表示为“第几”。此外，在生日中，描述日期时，也会用到序数词。比如：May 1st（5月1日）；在英语学习中，常常需要区分基数词和序数词。
在英文中，表示日期先写月份，再写某天对应的序数词。如“10月1日”英文写作“October 1st”，读作“October the first”。注意具体日期前要用on做介词。
