Dear Diary,
I have a lot to write about this week!
I want to write a report about agriculture.
Agriculture is all about growing plants and raising animals for food.
To learn more about plants, we planted some seeds. I planted one in a small pot. I gave it plenty of water, and it sprouted a few days later. Soon, it grew a stem and a leaf.
Now, something new is growing at the top of the stem. It’s a flower bud. It will open up and turn into a flower. Later, the flower will become a head, and the head will turn into seeds.
I’m going to look after my plant carefully. I’ll put the pot in the yard. There, it can get some sunshine. I’ll cover it when the weather is cold. I’ll send some seeds to Li Ming. I think he will love them.
Now I’m going to draw a beautiful picture of my plant.

易混辨析： one，that 与it
that 表示特指，代替上文中提到的人或物，用来代替可数名词单数或不可数名词；those则用来代替可数名词复数。 The climate of Russia is not so mild as that of China.俄罗斯的气候不如中国的气候温和。
The apples in the bag are smaller than those on the table.袋子里的苹果比桌子上的小。
it 特指上文提到的同一事物，即同类同物。 I have lost my umbrella. I'm looking for it. 我的伞丢了，我在找它。( 同一把伞)
一语辨异：
Mary’s pen is nicer than that of Peter. Where did she buy it I want to buy one, too.
玛丽的钢笔比彼得的钢笔更好看。她在哪里买的？我也想买一支。
4. Now, something new is growing at the top of the stem.（教材P28）
something new 形容词修饰不定代词要放在不定代词之后。
e.g. There is something important in today’s newspaper.
今天的报纸上有重要内容。

send /send/ v. 寄；发送
send sb. sth. 相当于“send sth.to sb.”，意为“给某人寄某物”。
