Danny：This morning, the sun rose. This evening, the sun will set.
Jenny：No, no! Tell us the exact time!
Danny：The sun rose at 7:25 this morning and it will set at
6:09 this evening.

Language points
1. How is the weather in your hometown in spring (教材P2)
How is the weather ？和What’s the weather like ？都意为“天气怎么样？”常用来询问天气状况，答语通常为“It’s ＋表示天气的形容词.”。
【注意】weather 意为“ 天气”， 是不可数名词， 特别是在感叹句中weather 前不能加不定冠词。
e.g. What nice weather it is!/How nice the weather is!
多好的天气啊!
2. I’m Danny Dinosaur on the radio. (教材P2)
on the radio 通过无线电广播；通过收音机。on the radio 为固定用法，其中on 作介词，意为“通过；使用；借助于”，表示方式。
e.g. At home, we usually listen to English on the radio.
在家里，我们通常用收音机听英语。

3. Here’s the weather report. (教材P2)
本句是以here 开头的倒装句，主要起强调作用。正常语序是“The weather report is here.”。
e.g. Here is an apple. 这儿有一个苹果。
There goes the phone. 电话铃响了。
特别提醒：当here或there位于句首，且主语是代词时，主语和谓语不用倒装。
e.g. Here you are. 给你。

reach 在此句中，意为 “达到，发展到，提升到（尤指高的水平等）”
e.g. The temperature is expected to reach 30℃ today.
今天的气温预计会达到30℃。
e.g. He’s just reached the grand old age of 95.
他刚到95岁高龄。
during /'dj r / prep. 在……的期间
during常与时间段连用，表示特定的某一段时间内，“during ＋时间段”与延续性动词连用，表示该段时间里一直发生的动作。
e.g. They swim every day during the holiday.
他们在假期期间天天游泳。

【现在进行时表示将来】
come 意为“来”，是表示位置移动的单词。在英语中表示位置移动的单词构成的现在进行时通常表示按计划或安排要发生的事情。常见的单词有start，come， go，arrive，leave 等。
e.g. The children are starting school on Monday.
孩子们星期一就要开学了。
6. There will be a shower this afternoon. (教材P2)

e.g. We were caught in a heavy shower.
我们遇到一阵大雨。
He took a shower and went to bed last night.
他昨天晚上洗了个淋浴然后上床睡觉了。
He showered quickly before he got dressed.
他穿衣服之前很快地洗了个淋浴。

maybe /'me bi/ adv. 可能
maybe 副词，常置于句首作状语，用来表示推测，意为“也许；可能”。
may be “情态动词+ be”，意为“也许是；可能是”，在句中作谓语。
辨析：maybe与may be
e.g. Maybe you put the letter in your pocket.
也许你把信放在你的口袋里了。
He may be Li Ming’s father.
他可能是李明的父亲。
He may be in the office.=Maybe he is in the office.
他或许在办公室。
8. I’m scared of thunder! (教材P2)
be scared of 害怕
scared 的习惯搭配：
① be scared of sb./ sth. /doing sth.
= be afraid of sb./ sth./doing sth.
② be scared to do sth. = be afraid to do sth.
scared 意为“感到害怕的”，常描述人。 一 语辨异：I am scared of the scary animal. 我害怕那个吓人的动物。
scary 意为“恐怖的，吓人的”，常描述事物。 辨析：scared 与scary

rise /ra z/ v. & n. 升起，上升，增加
e.g. They will come when the sun rises. 他们将会在日出之时来。
Gas rose in price. 煤气涨价了。
Smoke was rising from the chimney. 烟正从烟囱里升起。
rise → rose → risen
rise 上升，指人或事物自身不借助外力起来、升高，用作不及物动词。
raise 举起，抬起，指人为地让物体升高，用作及物动词。
辨析：rise 与raise
