Danny is babysitting his cousin Debbie on the playground. Brian is with them.
Danny：Thank you for helping me, Brian. This is my first time
babysitting.
Brian： You’re welcome, Danny. But where is Debbie？
(Danny turns around. Debbie is on the monkey bars. She is climbing very high. )
Danny：Hold on , Debbie! Don’t fall off !
(Danny runs towards Debbie. )
Danny：Come down, please!
Debbie：I want to climb higher!
Brian：Come down, Debbie. You’re too high up. Let’s play
on the swings instead, OK？ Danny will push you.
Debbie：OK, I love swings!
(She climbs down, runs to the swing and climbs on. )
Debbie：Push me, Danny! Push me up higher!
Danny：OK. (He gives her a push. )
Debbie：(She laughs. )Push harder!
Brian：Can I give you a push
Debbie：No, I want Danny to! Higher, Danny!
Danny：(He is tired and hot. )It’s time to stop swinging,

Debbie：(She gets off the swing. )Let’s run! Let’s play catch.

thank sb. for doing sth. 因为做某事感谢某人，for 是介词，后跟名词、代词或动名词。
e.g. Thank you for your flowers.
谢谢你( 给我) 的花。
Thank you for inviting me to your birthday party.
谢谢你邀请我参加你的生日聚会。
3. Hold on, Debbie! (教材P10)
hold on 意为“抓住；抓紧”。表示“紧紧抓住某物”时其后要加介词to。
e.g. Hold on to the rope, or you will fall off.
抓紧绳子，否则你会摔下去的。
He told me to hold on to the bar.
他告诉我抓紧那个栏杆。
hold on还可表示“(在困境或危险中) 坚持住”。 也可用在电话用语中，意为“别挂断”。
e.g. Hold on. Everything will be all right.坚持住，一切都将会好的。

—Hold on, please. He will be here in a minute.

come down 下来；下降；降低
e.g. He will come down from the upstairs soon.

instead / n'sted/ adv. 代替，更换
① instead 代替，顶替，常用于句尾。
② instead of 代替，后接名词、代词、介词短语或动名词。
辨析：instead 与 instead of
e.g. I didn’t have a pen, so I used a pencil instead.
我没有钢笔，因此我就用铅笔代替了。
They went there on foot instead of by bike.

It’s time to do sth. 到做某事的时间了。to为动词不定式符号，后接动词原形。
① It’s time for sb. to do sth.到某人做某事的时间了。
② It’s time for sth.到做某事的时候了。
e.g. It’s time to go to school. 到了该去上学的时间了。
It’s time for us to have lunch.到我们吃午饭的时候了。
It’s time for lunch. 该吃午饭了。
stop doing sth. 停止做某事
stop doing sth. 停止做某事，表示停止正在做的事 They stopped having a rest. 他们停止了休息。
stop to do sth. 停下来去做某事，表示停下手头上的事，去做另一件事 They stopped to have a rest. 他们停下来去休息了一下。
辨析：stop doing sth.与stop to do sth.

Shall we... 是用来征求对方意见时常用的句型之一，意思为“我们……好吗？”
e.g. Shall we go to the park tomorrow
我们明天去公园好吗？
英语中表示提建议的几种句型：
① Shall I/we ＋动词原形？意思为“我( 们)……好吗？”肯定回答可用“OK./ All right./Good idea.”等。
e.g. —Shall we go swimming 我们去游泳好吗？
—Good idea. 好主意。
② Let’s ＋动词原形.
e.g. Let’s have a rest! 我们休息一会儿吧！
