Hi Jenny,
How exciting!You and Danny will come to China and see the Silk Road with us!
We will travel along the Silk Road together. Wang Mei and I will meet you in Beijing. Our first stop will be Xi’an. How far is it from Beijing to Xi’an It’s about 1 114 kilometres.
This trip will be very special. The Silk Road is about 6 500 kilometres long! But we don’t have enough time to see it all.
We can only see part of it. We’ll learn about the history and culture
of China along the way.
I will send you the school’s plan for our trip.

how far用于提问距离有多远。
how long用于提问时间有多长、多久,还可以用于提问物体的长度。

4. The Silk Road is about 6 500 kilometres long! (教材P4)
sth. + be + 数字 + metre(s) / kilometre(s) / mile(s) ... + long,
用来描述某物的长度。
【例句】
The river is about 15 kilometres long.
这条河大约有15公里长。
5. But we don’t have enough time to see it all. (教材P4)
have enough + 名词 + to do sth. 表示“有足够的时间来做......”。
【例句】
We have enough milk to drink.
我们有足够的牛奶喝。
【拓展】
1. enough可以作副词,意思是“足够地;充分地”,通常位于形容词、副词或动词后,如:
You can go to school when you are old enough.
当你年纪足够大了你就能去上学。
2. enough还可作限定词或代词,意思是“足够”,如:

6. Arrive in Beijing and take a train to Xi’an (教材P4)
arrive v. 到达,抵达
当arrive、get后跟副词home, here, there时, arrive后不加at或in, get后不加to。
当“到达”后面没有接任何地点时,只能用arrive。
辨析get, arrive和reach
单词 词性 短语 例句
到 达 get vi.不及物动词, 其后不能直接 跟表示地点的 名词,要加介 词,再跟宾语 get to + 地点 I often get to school at 7:30 a.m.
我经常在早上七点半到校。
arrive in +大地点 He will arrive in Shanghai at 8 o’clock. 他将在八点到达上海。
arrive arrive at +小地点 —When will you arrive
你将什么时候到?
—At three o’clock this afternoon.
今天下午3点。
reach vt.及物动词, 其后直接加宾 语(表示地点的名词) reach + 地点 They will reach London on March 6.
他们将在3月6号到达伦敦。
take a train 乘火车
take + a / an / the + 交通工具,相当于by + 交通工具。
【例句】
They will take a train to Wuhan.
他们将会坐火车去武汉。
The library is far from here. Why not take a bus
图书馆离这里很远。为什么不坐公共汽车去?
常与take搭配的交通工具:
take a bus 乘公共汽车
take a plane 做飞机
take the subway 乘坐地铁
7. Come back to Beijing and leave Beijing (教材P4)
leave v. 动身;出发;离开 过去式和过去分词为:left
leave的常见搭配:
leave for + 地点,意思是“前往某地”
leave + 地点 + for + 地点,意思是“离开某地去某地”
【例句】
I left the school for my home.
我离开学校回我家。
【拓展】
1. leave作及物动词,意为“落下;遗忘”,常用于“leave +宾语 + 地点”结构中,如:
I’ve left my cellphone in the office.
我把我的手机忘在办公室里了。
2. leave作及物动词,还可表示“留下”,如:
Did anyone leave me a note
有人给我留下便条了吗?
一般将来时
一般将来时由“助动词will / shall + 动词原形”构成,表示将来某个时间要发生的动作或存在的状态,也表示将来经常或反复发生的动作。一般将来时常与表示将来的时间状语连用,如tomorrow, next year, in the future等。
(注意:shall仅与第一人称(I / we)搭配使用,will可与各种人称搭配使用)
一般将来时的肯定句
句型:主语 + will / shall + 动词原形 + 其他
【例句】
I will / shall arrive in Wuhan tomorrow morning.
我会在明天上午到武汉。
I think it will be hotter in Beijing next summer.
我想明年北京的夏天会更热。
一般将来时的否定句
句型:主语 + will / shall + not + 动词原形 + 其他
【例句】
She won’t listen to me.
她不会听我的话。
The car won’t start.
汽车发动不起来。
won’t是will not的缩略式
一般将来时的一般疑问句
句型:Will / Shall + 主语 + 动词原形 + 其他?
【例句】
— Will he be back in two days
——他两天后会回来吗?
— Yes, he will. / No, he won’t.
—— 是的,他会。/ 不,他不会。
对于将要发生的事情,或打算、计划、决定要做的事情,还可以用“be going to + 动词原形 + 其他”这个句型来表示。
(注意:will和be going to在用法和含义上略有不同。will用于表达说话者当下做出的决定,be going to用于表示事先的计划。)
be going to的肯定句
句型:主语 + be going to + 动词原形 + 其他
【例句】
He is going to travel around the world.
他计划周游世界。
They’re going to have a picnic this weekend.
他们计划这周末去野餐。
be going to的否定句
句型:主语 + be not going to + 动词原形 + 其他
【例句】
I’m not going to be a teacher.
我不打算当老师。
It’s not going to rain this afternoon.
今天下午不会下雨。
