Unit 4 Why don’t you talk to your parents
Period One Section A(1a-2c)教案
Teaching goals:
1.Language goals:
a. Master the following words and phrases: allow, wrong, guess, deal.
b. Master the following phrases: too much homework, can’t get enough sleep, have to study too much, too many after-school classes, don’t allow you to hang out with friends, get into a fight with your friends.
c. Master the following sentences:
1)What’s wrong(with you) /What’s the matter(with you)
2) Why don’t you talk to your parents
3)Why not go to sleep earlier this evening
4) You could talk to your teachers.
5) You should talk with your best friend.
2.Emotional goals.
Let students realize the problems in daily life, encourage students to solve them in proper ways.

How to give proper advice about different problems
Teaching procedure:
Step 1. Lead-in
Look at the first picture, what is the girl doing Yeah, she is doing he homework. In the second picture, what’s she doing Right, she is playing the piano. She is happy. In picture 1, she is unhappy. She is sad. Maybe she has too much homework to do,so she has no time to do things she likes. In your daily lift, Do you have these problems
Step 2. Presentation.
1.Present the pictures on the screen, learn about different problems: too much homework, can’t get enough sleep, have to study too much, too many after-school classes, don’t allow you to hang out with friends, get into a fight with your friends.
2. Let students read the phrases together after the teacher.
Step 3.A guessing game
Imagine this is your problems. Can you guess “what’s wrong with you ”
To each picture, the teacher begins to ask “what’s wrong with you ”, the students guess what the problem is, then the teacher gives a piece of advice. Finally, the students read the small dialogue aloud together.
1. --What’s the matter with you
--I have too many after –school classes.
--Why don’t you talk to your parents
--Sure.
2. --What’s wrong with you
--I have to study too much, so I don’t get enough sleep.
--Why not go to sleep earlier this evening
--Ok, I will.
3. --What’s the matter with you
--I have too much homework.
--You could talk to your teachers.
--All right.
4. –What’s wrong
--I got into a fight with my best friend.
--You should talk with your best friend
--Good idea.
5. –What’s wrong
--My parents don’t allow me to hang out with friends.
--Why don’t you read some interesting books at home
--That’s a good idea.
Step4. Pair work
1.Discuss the problems in the picture in pairs. Then change the roles. For example:
A: What’s wrong
B: I …
A: Why don’t you …
B: Yes, you’re right./OK,I will/Good idea/I think so.
2. Finish 1a. Look at these problems. Do you think they are serious or not Write them in the appropriate box. Then exchange your answers with your partner.
Step5.Listening(1b,2a,2b&2c)
1. Listen and circle the problems you hear in 1a. Then check the answers:1,4. (1a)
2. Peter’s friend is giving him advice. Fill in the blanks with could or should. Listen for the first time, then check the answers together: could, should, should, could, could. (2a)
3. Listen again, Match the letters with 2a. Then check the answers: d, e, a, c, b. (2b)
4. Pair work. Role-play a conversation between Peter and his friend like 2c. (2c)
Step 6. Exercises.
Students do the exercises on the screen.
Step 7. Summary
Sum up today’s grammar and key phrases.
Step 8. Homework.
1.Finish your workbooks. (page43,44)
2.Writing a conversation.
In our daily life, we often have some problems that make us unhappy. We may ask our parents, teachers, or friends for help to solve the problems. Please write down your own conversation.

教学反思:
本节课备课时我认真请教了备课组的老师,做到了备教材、备学生和备教法。课中能结合学生实际,对于基础知识能够反复练,力争使学生当堂知识当堂消化。学生积极配合,大声朗读,积极参加课内活动,取得了预期的效果。课后反思这节课,对于基础知识部分做的比较扎实,但是处理教材时缺乏应有的灵活度,学生活动也没有紧紧贴合学生的实际与喜好。这使我认识到教材整合的重要性,以后在教学设计过程中会更多的考虑到学生的心理与爱好,设计更多学生感兴趣的活动。感谢备课组的老师积极听课与认真反馈,对于给出的合理建议,我做出了认真的必要的修改。
