I. Analysis of the Teaching Materials
通过本单元前两课时的学习,学生基本上激活了已有的语言知识,对本单元的话题(pollution and environmental protection)已经有所感知,对于environmental problems, how to solve air pollution, how to solve waste pollution等内容有了更深入的学习。本课时的阅读文段Save the sharks!这个关于动物的话题是学生比较感兴趣的内容,但是部分词汇,如food chain, ecosystem, industry和个别句型结构较为复杂,学生理解上应该有一定的难度。我可结合课堂实际情况,指导鼓励学生小组学习,讨论认知新的复杂的语言结构,扫清阅读障碍。
II. Analysis of the Students
九年级学生应该对生态系统已经有了一个比较全面的了解,而鲨鱼也是学生所了解的一种在食物链最顶端的动物,对本文当中所提到的鱼翅汤,学生的映像是一种比较好的食材,但在本文当中,学生们将了解到鲨鱼正从世界慢慢消失这一现实,同时了解原因,以及这一现实将会给世界带来什么样的后果,这些因素学生都比较感兴趣,同时对于学生今后的环保意识的树立起到了很好的作用。

1. Learn some of the key words and expressions in the reading passage.
2. Cultivate Ss to read for specific ideas and the structure of the passage.
3. Understand the present situation of sharks and raise Ss’ awareness of protecting animals.

I. Warming up (3’) 1. Look at the picture and answer easy questions.“what animals do you like ” 2. Afer watching a short video , and answer the teacher’s questions. 1.Play a short video about sharks, then show some questions: a. What’s your impression (印象)about sharks b. What do people catch the sharks to get 学生能看懂视频并回答老师引出课题的两个问题。 利用视频吸引学生兴趣,活跃课堂气氛。
II.Before reading (5’) 3. Look at the picture and talk about the food chain. 4. learn some new words and phrases. 2.Show pictures and help the Ss learn some new words and phrases. 3.Write down new words and phrases on the board. 利用图片和导图解决文章出现的重点、难点词汇和短语。解决学生对文章阅读理解的障碍。 快速导入课文。
III.While reading (18’) 5. Read the passage quickly, especially the first and last sentences in each paragraph and match the main ideas. 6. Read Paragraph 2 and try to answer the questions. 7. Read Paragraph 3 and find the answers to three questions. 8. Read along with the radio and understand the passage better. 4.Walk around the classroom and give the Ss some help. 5. Check the answers . 大部分同学能够跟着课程展开环节完成任务。 精读环节旨在训练学生对文本精准分析和理解的能力。
IV.Post- reading(8’) 9. After reading the passage and fill in the blanks with the words in the box.(3b) 10. Retell the passage according to the words below. 6.Give the Ss some help if they need help. 3b基本都能完成,部分同学完成复述会有困难 加深学生对文章的理解,提高语篇的整体认识水平。
V.Discussing and thinking (6’) 11. Ask the students to discuss the question: What can we do to save the animals like sharks 12. Try to express different opinions. 7.Play the other short video about protecting animals. 8. Ask students’ feelings and what they should do. 绝大部分学生会参与其中,但是少数部分学生可以表达观点。 深入挖掘文本,培养学生部分珍稀动物濒临灭绝的意识,激发他们对这些动物的关爱之心,并从自我做起采取行动。

教学反思:课堂上充分突出学生的主体地位,借助多媒体手段,激发学生的兴趣,达到听说读的技能目标。在阅读中不断给学生一些阅读策略指导,通过挽救动物的视频对学生进行一定的情感教育,激发学生的深层阅读。不足之处没有照顾到部分后进生的接受能力,未完成课堂任务往往会忽略部分学生的感受。
